Remarks
I applied for this college because it provides really good placement to students. Another reason was because of the great environment in the university. the university also provides side programs for skill development. Admission criteria is to just have 50% in your intermediate class and different subject requirement for different courses. My admission process was great too. A skilled faculty member was taking my interview through an internet video call.
Course Curriculum Overview
I wanted to opt to become a software developer and BCA was a good program to achieve it. The faculty-student ratio is really good. The number of faculty is very large. The qualification of the faculty member is very high. Most of them have mastered a degree and many faculty members have a Ph.D. There are two exams in a year, mid-terms and end-terms. For me, the exams were neither too difficult nor too easy. It is not really difficult for us to pass the exams. I was able to pass the exam easily but obviously few students failed in a few subjects.
Internships Opportunities
Wipro, TCS, Infosys, SAP Labs, and Capgemini are some companies offered by the BCA program. I am in my second year and I am not really sure about the projects in our program for the internships. A friend of mine got placed in TCS through BCA and now he is having is training program there. He told me, that there are a lot of internship opportunities given to students so that they can prepare for the placement.
Placement Experience
Placements are really good in our campus. They are a variety of companies that come to our college to hire students. Some large companies are TCS, WIPRO, Infosys, and more. From the fourth semester preparation for placement starts and in the fifth or sixth semester you can get placed. The average package is of about 3 lakhs and I don't know about the highest but a senior friend of mine got an 8 lakh package in TCS. The percentage of students getting placed is about 80-85%. I plan for pursuing an MCA degree from a government college after getting a BCA degree.
Fees and Financial Aid
In the first year, they asked for 85000 for the academic annual fees. Fees gradually increase a little bit every year. A lot of opportunities are given to get a scholarship. I think there is criteria that few toppers get a scholarship every year. If you are having some trouble with the payment of fees, the authority gives you time so that you can recover from the financial problem. I think GLA does not provide campus jobs to students (Thats from what I know until now, maybe they provide campus jobs to other courses).
Campus Life
Life at the campus is really good. Due to covid, the university was unable to organize some fests but I am sure about that before covid, before I joined the university there were a lot of fests every year, both educational and cultural. Books are available in the library and you can borrow it from there for free. The variety of books in the library is very large and they provide journals too. University provides good and comfortable seats in the classroom. University also provides air conditioners in the class for the betterment of the comfort in the class. GLA University supports sports at a huge level. It organizes timely many sports events. Talking about extracurricular activities, there are a lot of clubs in GLA University. I myself is in a music club called NINAD. There are clubs for theatrical drama or acting, dance, photography, chess, etc. But there are clubs as well as for educational purposes too.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel faculty are really nice and they are really supportive. The hostel provides a chair, a table, a single bed, a LED bulb, and a LAN wire. The hostel provide hot and cold water according to the season. The meal quality is really good. I have been to other colleges and tasted food in the hostel mess and I found GLA University's mess best compared to other colleges. The menu for the week is also fine, not too heavy, not too light. You can register or book your hostel through online website provided by GLAU once you are registered as a student. Renting a room or PG is also fine. Many friends of mine are staying outside the campus and they are happily spending there time too.
