College Life, Faculty and Placement of PUSSGRC Hoshiarpur

I have got my seat through JAC Chandigarh Counselling which takes place on the basis of JEE Mains scores. The main qualification to get admission here is JEE Mains Score and the minimum marks changes every year as per students applying. You must have passed 12th examination from any recognized board. I got my seat in spot round and was asked to report next day at the Counselling Centre. You have to carry all the documents and their photocopies as given in the instructions. After checking the documents they confirmed my seat and asked me to report in college on the given date. The teachers at the counseling center are very cooperative and you can call on the helpline in the given time and they will help you in every possible way throughout the counselling process.

I wanted to opt for ECE because I have keen interest in Digital Designs and Communication (like satellite,radio, radar etc.). The faculty:student ratio is good and every single students doubts are answered. The faculty is well qualified and many of them have industrial experience also in their respective fields. Almost all of them are post graduated. Many faculty members have already completed their PHD. The teaching method is good. However with Covid-19 pandemic when everything shifted online it has become difficult for both the students to understand and teachers to explain the concepts with limited resources. I think its same in other colleges as well. However with the passing time the teaching process got improved. There are 2 MSTs and one Final exam in every semester. The 1st MST consists of half the syllabus and the 2nd MST consist of other half. The best of two gets added into the final result. So both the MST covers the whole syllabus so it becomes easy to score in the final exam.

From 7th semester students get eligible for placements. Almost 90% eligible students got job offer. There are many MNCs that hire students in campus placement such as Nagarro, Zycus, Gemini, HashedIn be Dellote, Airtel, Cognizant, Capgemini, Infosys, SML ISUZU, Sonalika, Airtel, Quark and many more. The packages offered are decent. My plan is to take a decent job from campus placement after degree.

There is usually a fee hike almost every year. Since it is a government institute the fees is not that high as compared to private and also some government institutes. There are many scholarships available. Some of them are Merit-based scholarship, SC-ST scholarship, single parent and many more. One can also apply on scholarships by different states and central government and University tries its best to get you the assistance. In this pandemic the tution fee of those students whose parents job and business got affected in pandemic was completely waived off.

There are two fests that were held after I joined the college which include TECHNNOVATION (tech fest) which was conducted in October and Aequitas (law fest) which was conducted in November-December. Also, there is Youth-Fest where students from different colleges participate. After that, the pandemic arrived and the other program got canceled. There is a library with a reading room in the campus where every book related to curriculam is available. The classrooms are quite basic includes a seating area and teaching platform. Labs are fully furbished with equipment that is required throughout the course. There is also an Annual Sports Meet where students from college participate in different sports. There is a football ground with a cricket pitch in the middle, basketball court, volleyball court, badminton court. Almost every piece of sports equipment is available in college. There are drama, singing, dance, photography, technical, and many other clubs in college. However, the campus is a bit small but amazing
