A gist of life in CMR University

My CET ranking was very low. Compared to all the colleges offered by CET, this was the best college, and the fee was very reasonable considering its infrastructure. I studied under the SC quota and I got my yearly scholarship. I chose mechanical engineering, I don't really remember the minimum marks and age but the admission process was very easy. There were no complications as such. The location of the college is the only drawback as it is not located in the city. But the surrounding is very peaceful, the architecture is too good. There's no traffic noise issue, so you can focus without any disturbance in class. I attended only 2 and half years out of, 4 years due to covid.

I chose Mechanical Engineering because I have always been in male-dominant fields since my childhood and I wanted to take up a career in the same, and I am also passionate about mechanical engineering. My faculty was very friendly and facilitated plenty of things for us during our time at CMR University. Most of the faculty members of the Mechanical Department hold a PhD in their respective fields. They made it easier for us to understand the concepts and have helped us quite a lot during tests and examinations. Term exams were followed according to the curriculum until Covid after covid plenty of changes were inculcated which lead to some delay in internals and term exams. Term exams are sometimes easy, sometimes tough.

Students become eligible for campus placements from the 7th semester, provided you have no backlogs. Reputed companies IBM, Donzo, Volvo, Total Oil, Vedantu Innovations, etc visited our college for placements.

I got admitted through CET so my fee structure was very very reasonable for the infrastructure provided. The fee wasn't hiked. I also got my yearly scholarship, some delay here and there due to covid.

Life on campus is not very great as there were fewer people during my time at CMR University. It was established in 2016 and I studied in the second batch. One fest was conducted in 2019, which was organized by my batch and the seniors. Otherwise, we were sent to different colleges to partake in various colleges. The library has a variety of books and journals and the librarian is a very friendly person, very supportive and makes it very easy for us to collect and return the books. Classrooms are very spacious, obviously, and they have the basic amenities. They are very supportive of co-curricular activites like sports, dance, NCC, etc.
