MBA- SMVDU Experience

Haven't applied for any other college because SMVDU is one of the well-reputed colleges in the whole country and has a great placement cell for the students. Didn't avail any quota for taking admission here. The admission criteria involve:- minimum 50% marks in the graduation from the recognized university, no such age restriction, go through the entrance test conducted by the university, and one plus point to them who have appeared in the CAT/MAT.

As my father is a businessman and we have a well-flourished business in the town and I always wanted to join my father in his business that's why to learn about the various marketing techniques I opted for the MBA course. The teachers here are well educated and always support their students. The term exams are easy to pass out and conduct just after the ending of the syllabus.

Just after the completion of the 2nd-semester exams, the students become eligible for the campus placements. Companies like Shriram, Prescon, Pepsi, Unilever, Hdfc, etc. visits the campus every year and provide no. of job opportunities to the students with an average salary of 4lakh-6lakh. Almost 60% of students get the campus placements provided by the campus placement cell.

The fees hike policy of the SMVDU is a bit higher than the other colleges in Jammu but in terms of the facilities and great placements, they provide it worthy to take admission here. Scholarship schemes are only available for students who have more than 80 percentile in the CAT/MAT exam.

No such annual fests were a part of the university during my MBA course, only the annual day used to be celebrated on the college campus by the teachers and the students together. On exam days there is usually a shortage of books and journals in the library. Sports competitions were also a part of our college life and university every year conducts such sports competitions for the students. Vikalp is a social group run by the students in the college.

The hostel rooms have all the facilities needed in a room like full ventilation, fan, air-conditioner, beds, almirahs, etc. The food on the college campus is very bad. A hostel facility is mandatory for every student.
