Remarks

The admission was centralized. So, as per my percentage in 12th, I got admission to GGDSD College, Chandigarh. There were many other colleges to choose from but this college was the best in Chandigarh amongst all others.

Course Curriculum Overview

Those were easy since I pursued my CA along with B.com, so It was easy to score in b.com. The teachers here were good and supportive. Passing in exams wasn't difficult at all. All you need is a bit of consistency and be attentive to the lectures.

Class Size: 50Course Fees: INR 24000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

The annual fee costs around 24000. The main job I got is not on the basis of B.com, rather my CA. Since I cleared my IPCC along with B.com and I started my articles too, so I had experience in hand. It was easy to get a job at that time with this experience but I chose to complete my CA before that.

Campus Life

There is a Facebook page run by SD college students. Not only SD students are in that group but students from other colleges to are in the group. The social media group is helpful in bringing the students together from different colleges.

THE LIFE AT DAV COLLEGE

Placement Experience:

We do have a training and placement cell which is run mostly run by both students and teachers. Students with good percentile can sit for placements and can get place into companies which are mostly from BPO and sales background. Students are eligible for campus placements in their 5th semester. Companies which have came in our college in 2024-2025 are Sri ram insurance , Kotak insurance , Planet spark , De shaw , Zomato etc. Highest package offered is around 5 LPA and average package is around 1.5 LPA. I have planned to go for higher studies after my graduation, most probably I will be doing MBA.

And average package this year was 6 lakhs. Near around 97% students got campus placement. After getting degree my plan is to opt for MBA in finance from a good reputed college .

I applied for 4 colleges from which one is my present college 2 is DAV college 3 is khalsa college and 4 is Panjab university. My 1 preference was to get admission in panjab university but I couldn't get and my secind prefrence was SD college and i got admission here . Elgibility was easy as people for any background rather say commerce , arts , non medical or medical .
