Remarks

To take admission in Bsc ( IT ) first of all I went to the Elphinstone College as it is the oldest college in Mumbai and the budget of the fees was also less for the full 3 years course. And as per people's saying the teaching facilities were also great there. But when I went there the admission seats were full. And for that reason I didn't get admission to this college I request you to as soon as you passed your 12th be active on college information and admission processes if you want to get admission in it. Then I went to Wilson College, wow I loved the place where It is located In front of the college there is a big sea. But the route from my house to this college was too much that's why I didn't opt for this college. Then I went to B.K Birla College And as soon as I here the fees of admission in the course that I wanted I left the college saying nothing and decided to join others. Then I reached KC College and took admission fees was fine no minimum marks required everything on merit.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

I wanted to do engineering in computer science or information technology but my marks in CET were less and didn't give JEE exams also. But I loved this field of computers and doing work on computers was my childhood dream. that's why I choose this course. Then after doing some research over the internet, I found out that In B.Sc Courses Of Computer Science/Information Technology the study Is the same and there are very few differences in courses that I will be getting In these two of them. So I decided to join B.Sc In Information Technology and after studying it for 3 years and comparing with BE In Computer Science/Information I found that everything was same. But In BE the study was in depth and In BSc, the study was in a little bit of depth not very difficult. In my college, there are lots of departments available in different courses and the student ratio is also maximum. My course has a 3 years period. Teachers are great at teaching every subject. Exams are very difficult to pass and score

Internships Opportunities

4

In my college, Wipro, cognizant and tcs offered an internship with a stipend of 10K every month lots of students joined it. And after completion of their internship, they were offered a job there as continuing the same work there and many applied also. In internships, the roles offered was to make a project on web or app development and some were placed on data entry job also. The internship was for a period of 6 months and It was also the last year project of our college to join these companies as interns and show your certificates to clear out your graduation. So it was totally fine for lots of us as our project was also clearing and at the same time, we were getting paid. Those students who fail to complete their companies project work were rejected to continue with their permanent job there after completion of their internships. But there were companies also coming after completion of 3 years course. So there is no tension of being not placed in companies after graduation here.

Placement Experience

5

Placements opportunity comes in plenty options here every student get a chance to join their loved/known company's and nearly 90% are placed also in those companies. Very few students remain unplaced and other students have their own family businesses so they decide to do that further in their life. So, there is no tension of remaining unemployed here. Companies like Tata, Infosys, Wipro, L&T, Philips, Cognizant and more come here to recruit students at the completion of this 3 years course. This companies offers a average packages during recruitments and they were like 2 - 3.5 LPA. And the highest package which was offered by philips was 7 - 8 LPA. In my batch only 2 students get lucky to get placed in Philips Company. And other students were placed in average packages which was 3 - 4.5 LPA. My plan after getting the degree was to be placed in product based companies like tcs or cognizant. And I did my best to get a job in tcs and I got the job from college. My package was 4 - 5 LPA.

Fees and Financial Aid

I paid total money of 25,460 for an academic year in B.Sc ( Information Technology ). And the total money for 3 years period was greater than 80,000 including extra expenses, study materials and extracurricular activities. As I was from a reserved category student belonging to SC Category though I didn't get admission in the reserved quota because I gave my 12th from a different college. And they said that outsider students will only get admission in reserved category only on their merit of their marks in 12th which was high and already filled with students. So that's the reason I didn't admission to the reserved quota. Fees were high and also I didn't receive any scholarships scheme. We can pay our fees in instalments also so this is a good way to study with no tense of fees. During my last year/third year, there were coming for internships like tata, TCS and Wipro. But my main focus was to get the job so after graduation I joined Infosys company which came to our college to for recruitments.

Campus Life

5

College Infrastructure Is modern and the classrooms were big enough to study and were clean and tidy. Library rooms were full of air conditioned and having a limited number of seats some times it gets full so during that time students seats outside the library to study or even study on campus ground. Our college celebrates Kiran fest every year during the starting of each academic year in the month of June-July. During every degree courses period students of every stream take part in dancing, singing and every sports activity like football, cricket and basketball etc. And all these extracurricular activities are played during fest seasons in our college giving those students special giveaways or prizes. Our college has its own website and app and that every new update about lectures or admissions are provided so as soon as you took admission you must download their official app. The campus life is great here you will never forget anything spent here in your life.

Strong academic legacy with expereinced faculties and balanced content- preparing you for future studies and entrance exams and olympiads. very much strict, i would say not needed. somehwere you may experience baised behaviour; but when you are focused on gaining knowledge then these things dont matter as its only a matter of three years. Relevance of course is there but for applying for further studies not for that much for job prospects, if you want atleast a decent salary job.

I have rarely seen companies coming to our college for placement purposes for our course but I have seen companies coming for BCOM and BCA. I don't know about my course as I am currently in my second year. The percentage of students getting placements are veryess as my friend from third year said that out of 150 students only 10 students got placed this year which is very less compared to other colleges. My plans after getting the degree is if I got a job in any of the it company I will do it for experience and side by side I am planning to pursue my education in MSC CS
