Remarks

The minimum marks required for this course BJMC is an aggregate of 45% in your 12th board. I didn't have any quota for admission. I haven't applied for any other college. I was impressed with the faculty the environment of the college.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

I was interested in Content writing, so I chose this course. the faculty-student ratio is 1:30. The faculty of the college are well trained and have Master's degrees and Ph.D. holders with having ample teaching experience. Exams were held every six months and it was neither easy nor difficult to pass the exam.

Internships Opportunities

5

AAJ KI KHABAR, a local news portal. I have done a content writing internship in this portal and got a 6000 per month stipend. I have also done internships in Live UttarPradesh and Live Uttarakhand news portal as a content writer with the same stipend structure.

Placement Experience

4.5

From the 5th semester, one is eligible to sit in the campus placements. Different companies like Edugorilla, HCL, TCS, Navbharat Times, etc visited the college for placements. 90% of students get campus placements. After Getting UG I am planning to do masters in Journalism and Mass Communication.

Fees and Financial Aid

BJMC course fees are 27k per semester. You can apply for the scholarship, but it has to get approval from Lucknow University. different media houses visit campus for placement like HCL, Edugorilla, News18, NavbharatTimes, etc.

Campus Life

5

The annual fest of the college is Carpedium and the annual technical fest is Techiesta. The students take part in different intercollege and State level programs. There are ample books present in Library. The classroom is enough spacious with proper ventilation, light, and an Ac facility. The sports events are held annually as part of Carpedium.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

College doesn't have any hostel of their own but one can find n number of pgs and hostels near the college. The hostels provide you with every facility from good food to a healthy environment. The hostel charges are 6500 including food and 4500 for non-fooding.

Interview Experience

4.5

A written test is conducted by Lucknow University and then a formal interview is conducted. General knowledge about current events is sufficient to pass the written test. Day to Day knowledge about the current happening in the newspaper is sufficient to prepare for the test and for an interview you have to have an opinion of your own on the current events without any biases.

Placement Experience:

80% students are placed through DME with a package of 5 LPA to 7 LPA on an average which is quite decent for a fresher entering the industry. The top recruiting are for placements are Bharat Express, PR Guru, Amar Ujala, Dynamite News, T.H.E.M.E.S. Over 90% of the students were placed for internship in Amar Ujala, PR Guru, Aaj Tak, ABP News and Doordarshan. Top roles offered are journalist, content writer, anchor, film maker, and back end roles like video editor, graphic designer and many more. I personally plan to go into video editing after getting the degree.

My main aim is to become an automobile journalist that is the aspect that influenced me to choose this course. Till the date i dont feel that improvements are needed in curriculam and teaching methods. As faculty is really good in teaching and timely providing notes as it really helps students to learn effectively for theory exams and concentrate on practical skills that are needed to secure good position in reputed firms in future

Placements of our colleges and mediocre. From 6th semester students become elegible for campus placement. The highest package offered was 6LPA and the average package is 3-4 LPA. Placement depends upon the students applying for placement through college. Many students gets internships or jobs by themselves before even reaching placement cell.

Students become eligible for placement during their final year of college. DME offers several different companies that it has tie ins with for placements to students such as Gadgets 360, Aaj Tak, Myntra, PTI and D&P. 70-80% students get a good placement package. My personal plan following graduation is to pursue my higher education in correspondence with employment.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course itself was nothing out of the ordinary material, it teaches you the basics of the field but the faculties were pretty good and helped us understand not just the basic but a little more so that we could actually be able to work in the environment once we get there. Also they organise workshops which was mandatory for all the students without any extra charge to learn from professional what to do and how to do it best. We also used to get projects which actually helped alot in learning with practice the theory.
