Remarks

I have attended other colleges like IEM, HERITAGE institute of technology, RCC, B P Poddar and others. However, I preferred this college over others since this was near to my home. Also I liked another aspect of this college. This college has a strict discipline and at the same time, another important aspect of this college is that this college has a strict anti-ragging policy. Anyone found ragging will be expelled straight away. The admission criteria is quite simple. You just need to possess a valid wbjee rank of around 5k. This will suffice. Apart from it you require above 50% marks in each of physics, chemistry, and maths. About age criteria, you just need to be above 18 years to attend college. The admission process is quite simple. You need to attend mandatory counseling for it where it is your duty to select a proper college based upon your rank.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

I chose cse stream since it was in trend those days. Also in my +2 level, I had Computer science as my additional subject so I had a fond dream of taking up computer science engineering. Apart from this thing I did attend a career fair before counseling where a guy advised me also to take up computer science. I also like coding. So all these compelled me to take up computer science. There was 1 teacher per 65 odd students. Total faculty members in our stream had about 10 to 15 teachers. They were quite qualified. Some had also come from Iit, nit. some also did their job in barc, isro which they left in order to pursue their teaching over here. Also, other teachers at least had done MTech in order to teach over here. Nevertheless, one fact I must mention. These teachers were quite friendly. You don't need any home tuition. These people will help you out. There were internal exams followed by semester exams. Internal exams were easy but semester exams were of a moderate to difficult nature.

Internships Opportunities

5

So finally coming to the internship part. Since I belong to cse background, I had the opportunity to do my internship in Infosys as I have mentioned before. If I belong to other streams I had to do in maybe Tata Teleservices, ZTE, etc. Also Vodafone, Tata steel were other options. Now since I had done in Infosys I was more or less happy. Now I had been given various tasks overs there like various project works were assigned to me. In fact, we were given a team of 4 people. We had to design software of a hotel whose database, fronted ui everything from scratch needed to be done by us. All these things were quite challenging for us. Since we were a newbie so to get adjusted to industry standards was not easy for us. Finally, there was a PowerPoint presentation for us followed by a hard copy submission. Finally, our internship came to an end. We had to undergo training for around 30 odd days.

Placement Experience

4.5

Students from 4th year onwards become eligible for campusing. I mean students who are in 7th semester are eligible for campusing. Various companies do visit our campus. This is another reason why I chose this college over others. Our principal recruiter is cognizant followed by Infosys, other technologies, Wipro, Vodafone, ZTE etc. Many students got double job offers from both Infosys and cognizant. Around 88% of students were selected from on campus. Rest got their job offers from off-campus. The highest package was offered by cognizant which gave around a lumpsum ctc of 6 laks per annum. Min package of 4 lakhs was offered by Infosys of 4 lakhs per annum. Another thing average package of 5 lakhs was offered by cognizant. My plan after getting the degree is to get an MBA degree or else I can pursue ms in foreign country. Let's see what happens in the future.

Fees and Financial Aid

Cost to study was more. Its quite obvious. This was a private college after all You needed to pay 43k per semester. 1k per semester was added with every successive year. Now if I talk about scholarships there was one merit cum means scholarship available mainly for toppers of our college. I mean the people who get above 9 point will have a 10% off on tuition fees. There was another minority cum means scholarship where you will be getting 100% off on tuition fees. Other fees like lab fees, library fees you will have to give as per regular student.I was also given a 10% off on tuition fee based on my semester result. On campus, I was offered job from cognizant technology solutions and Infosys also. Cts happened to be our principal recruiter. I was offered a package of 3.5 lakhs per annum. I did my internship in my Infosys only. This privilege we got since I was selected in Infosys also.

Campus Life

4.5

The annual tech fest generally happened in the months of February or March. The name of the fest is "Srey". There were various events like Sudoku, Codingo round, Maths quiz, Impromptu, Robotics and various other events. Here students from various colleges did participate. It was our duty to invite students from other colleges. Also another responsibility included arranging for sponsors. This fest had spot cash prizes and various food vouchers. So if you are really well in any event you will surely grab a prize. The library had a plethora of books and a fast WiFi prevailed in our college so we do our lab projects at ease without any problem. In fact the amenities were quite nice like every classroom had proper desk and chair. The library contained may journals and study books which helped us very much. There was an annual sports day where different sports were organized like cricket, badminton, football etc.

I’d rate HIT’s placement opportunities as 7.5/10 overall. It’s very good for CSE, IT, and ECE, decent for Electrical and core branches, and improving every year with more companies visiting and better preparation programs. If you’re skilled and consistent — especially in coding, communication, and aptitude — you’ll almost certainly get placed before graduatin

7th semester is when the students get to sit for placements. I am not sure about the total no of companies visited but I am aware of the name of few companies like IBM Infosys Wipro Capsitech Tech Mahindra cognizant etc . Mostly the girls are 100 percent placed cause there is diversity hiring. Mass recruiters is what visit our campus mostly.. I personally would look for a job after graduation highest package offered displayed by college is 75 lpa but I don't think so it is real. Maybe someone had worked hard and got placed off campus. On campus highest isbi guess 12-14 lpa

- I choose Data Science as it is new to my college when comparing with the other branches. The curriculum is just okay it is not per industry standards but if students deep drives in each aspects then they are likely to crack GATE exams. - The whole curriculum needs and improvement from the very 1st Year and removal of irrelevant subjects like Discrete Mathematics, Electonics, Biology for IT branches are required. - Semester exams are conducted every 6 months and CTs are conducted every 2 months
