Remarks

I have applied for various colleges including RCC, Brainware, Item. However, this college was near to my house. Along with this one, my counselor whom I met during the career fair advised me to take admission in this college only. The counseling day event was simple. Since I had a wbjee rank of 5815 I easily got admission to this college. There was no hurdle. I was just required to submit a draft of 15k in college followed by a lumpsum amount thereafter. There were no minimum marks criteria for getting admission to this college. The only thing you required was a good wbjee rank and 50% marks in physics, chemistry, and maths. If you satisfy all these criteria you are fit to join this college. Another good aspect of this college is its anti-ragging nature and strict discipline. This is also one of my reasons for not attending any other college.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

I chose this course over others since I have already mentioned before my counselor whom I met on the day of the career fair. He only advised me to take up this course since this course was in demand those days. Also, I had a dream of appearing on the IES exam for which I need to study from one of the core streams like ECE, ee, mechanical or civil. One teacher was there for our 65 odd students. In our electronics stream total of 5 to 6 teachers were there who taught us different subjects. The teachers were highly qualified. Some were even from IIT, nit. Few left their hifi job in isro, barc to pursue their passion in teaching. Other teachers had atleast done MTech in order to teach over here. They are quite friendly and In fact, helped us a lot. The exams were quite timely. We had semester exams like odd and even sem and before that internal exams took place. Internal exams were of cakewalk and semester exams were of moderate to difficult level.

Internships Opportunities

5

In our college, you will not be getting a stipend for doing any sort of internship. In fact, the place where you will be doing an internship is also decided by our college placement officer. I got the chance of doing an internship in Tata Teleservices whereas many of my friends did the same in Indian Railways, Tata Steel, Vodafone, etc. The friends who did in Tata Steel got 5k as a stipend. This was a special case since we didn't get any stipend. In our internship, we were offered various tasks like doing PowerPoint presentations on what subjects we were taught during our training. In fact, we were taken on a field visit where we were shown BTS, towers. How signaling works and also regarding allocation of 2g and 3g spectrum. On the final day of the internship, we submitted a hard copy containing the synopsis of what we had learned during training days. The internship really helped us a lot during our real industry work.

Placement Experience

5

Students from the 4th year onwards became eligible for campusing. Many companies visited our campus. The principal recruiter as I have mentioned previously also was Cognizant. It offered the max package of 6 lakhs per annum followed by Infosys which offered a package of 5 lakhs per annum Any average student got a package of 4 lakhs per annum from any of these companies. Other companies which followed them were ITC infotech, Larsen and Toubro, ZTE, Odesha Technologies, Sonodyne, Vodafone, and others. Many students from our course ie. Electronics got double job offers. Approximately 88 % of students got job offers during on campus. Now the students who didn't get job offers here got job offers in off-campus placements. If you speak about my plans after getting a degree, it is that I want to pursue MBA after getting my undergraduate degree if I can't get success in the IES exam. This is what I have decided till now.

Fees and Financial Aid

During our time we were charged 45k per semester. It was quite high and with every passing year the fees were increased by 1k. If we speak about scholarship merit cum means scholarship was provided to people who were needy and at the same time were meritorious in their studies. I myself got 10% scholarship over tuition fees. The people who belonged to minority forum got 100% off on tuition fees. However, other fees like lab fees, development fees, library fees were same as other people. On campus I got selected in cognizant technology solutions which was our principal recruiter follows by Infosys, Itc infotech and other companies. The people who were 9 pointer got direct chance to sit for interview in case of cognizant. However, for Infosys and other companies all people had to undergo all rounds.

Campus Life

5

In our college annual tech fest named "Srey" was organized in the month of February or March. Various events were organized during this time. There were events like Sudoku, Impromptu, Robotics, Maths quiz, and various other events. Students from other colleges also took part in this event. There was another cultural event in our college where only students of our college took part and did singing, dancing to the best of their abilities. There were various prizes in our cultural fest starting from cash prizes to different food vouchers. We had to go to other colleges to invite students and also had to manage sponsors for this event. The classrooms were neat and clean with one desk and chair for everyone. The library contained a plethora of books so you don't need to go elsewhere in order to purchase study materials. The whole campus had a good quality WiFi connection. Annual sports were organized on our campus where events like race, tug of war, cricket, badminton, football took place.

I’d rate HIT’s placement opportunities as 7.5/10 overall. It’s very good for CSE, IT, and ECE, decent for Electrical and core branches, and improving every year with more companies visiting and better preparation programs. If you’re skilled and consistent — especially in coding, communication, and aptitude — you’ll almost certainly get placed before graduatin

7th semester is when the students get to sit for placements. I am not sure about the total no of companies visited but I am aware of the name of few companies like IBM Infosys Wipro Capsitech Tech Mahindra cognizant etc . Mostly the girls are 100 percent placed cause there is diversity hiring. Mass recruiters is what visit our campus mostly.. I personally would look for a job after graduation highest package offered displayed by college is 75 lpa but I don't think so it is real. Maybe someone had worked hard and got placed off campus. On campus highest isbi guess 12-14 lpa

Course Curriculum Overview:

- I choose Data Science as it is new to my college when comparing with the other branches. The curriculum is just okay it is not per industry standards but if students deep drives in each aspects then they are likely to crack GATE exams. - The whole curriculum needs and improvement from the very 1st Year and removal of irrelevant subjects like Discrete Mathematics, Electonics, Biology for IT branches are required. - Semester exams are conducted every 6 months and CTs are conducted every 2 months
