Remarks

Srirampur College, I am not attending this because I applied for Bsc in physics but I love microbiology so I don't attend it, Then I decided to join Surendranath College. No, I have not availed any quota I am from the General category. Admission criteria that is the minimum 75% marks in Higher secondary education and Age are minimum 17+ The admission process is offline counselling, there HOD and Many assistant Professors selected candidates who are qualified for interviews.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

I choose this course for a very interesting reason, I want to be a doctor, but I didn't take admission into government medical college for lack of percentage in exams. So, I decided to get admission into the microbiology course. In future, I will become a successful microbiologist. The best thing about our course is after completion of B.Sc, students can choose various fields in M.Sc like forensic science, biotechnology, medical biotechnology, marine biology and agricultural microbiology. Teacher Student ratio is almost 8:1. Teachers are helpful, qualified and knowledgeable. They are upgraded with their studies day by day with modern technology. All teachers are PhD qualified from famous universities. There are 5 permanent teachers, 2 part-time professors, 3 guest lecturers and 2 lab assistants. Semester exams in this college are moderately tough. The pass percentage in the theory is 30%, and in the practical, it is 50%.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees hike policy is offline dependant but in this pandemic situation, we are paying online via our college website. After paying the semester fees they gave us a stamped receipt for future purposes. Particularly There was no scholarship scheme affiliate with our college but the college office helped us to get various scholarships such as state, national scholarships with the help of their own registered web.

Campus Life

4

The name of our college fest is Lakshya that is held till 6 seasons,Which is occurred every year in winter seasons International and national books are freely available in our College library but for this, we need a library card approved by our college office for every 6 months renewal. The department is facilitated with free Wi-Fi, air-conditioned and a separate lab, well-furnished wardrobes, refrigerator, materials, microorganisms culture and glass utensils. Classrooms are modern, and teachers teach us with the help of projectors and laptops. Indoor games like carrom, chess and table tennis are available in the common room, and every year cricket, football tournaments and annual sports day are held on the university ground. There were two WhatsApp group that was run by students one is for only semester wise where only study materials, information about XM, college announcements are share and the other one is for total Microbiology grp where senior and junior bonding is really lovable.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum was well-structured, and each semester, there were projects and presentations that also helped to test our knowledge. I got influenced as the curriculum provides us with financial economics, political economics, and Applied mathematics. The level of the exams was decent, related to the course. They could improve in teaching more practical knowledge and projects related to that, instead of only learning in a theoretical way.

Placement Experience:

Placements and job oppurtinities are less since this is an undergraduate college offwering honours degree. Though there is a placement and career councelling cell that looks over this matter. Placements are offered only in a few subjects, such as industrial chemisrty and computer science. The rate of placements are very high and come with high packages. Though I am not interested in placements, but I have started taking preparations for compititive exams. Such preparations are very supported here, rather than jobs and placements.
