Get a chance to become a Teresian

I had only applied at St. Teresa's college at Ernakulam for BA Sociology. I haven't availed of any quota for admission. College: St. Teresa's College, Ernakulam Course: BA Sociology Admission criteria: The candidates should pass Class 12 in any stream with 55% marks Age limit: No Age Limit Admission process: The admission process will be based on marks. The allotment list will be published on the college website. After the publication of the allotment list, candidates who got admission on a merit basis will be called by the college director. If the candidates get called, they have come to college and submit a copy of mark lists, 10th certificate and application form. The original copy of the class 10 board exam certificate will be verified. The Head of the Department and one assistant professor of the department will interact with the candidate and the student. It is not an interview process. After that, the principal will be motivating each student. On that day itself, fees should be paid.

Sociology helps us to look at our society and other societies more objectively. It guides people to pay attention to how different parts of society combine and change and makes us aware of the consequences of such social changes. The qualification of the faculty is MA, M.Phil and PhD. They teach students every topic in the module is clear, elaborate and easy to understand. Also, they give out examples to make them understand. After completing every topic, they will give notes and references. The duration of the course is 3 years. In one year, we have 2 semesters. One semester from June to October and the next semester from November to April. The total marks for the internal exam will be 40 marks and the semester exam will be 80 marks. The duration of the internal exam will be 90 minutes and the duration of the external exam will be 120 minutes. The level of the exams will be easy to moderate. There will be no difficulty for students to pass the examination.

The fees of the course will be 7000 per year including tuition and departmental association fees. The exam fees for each semester will be 650 rupees. The scholarship offered in the college is E-Grants scholarship, Minority Welfare Scholarship, Central Sector Scholarship. These scholarships are provided for financially weaker students. The placements hiring in the campus are Infosys, Cognizant, South Indian Bank etc.

ASTA fest - first Wednesdays in December. Teresian week - November/ December. The classroom contains a smart class with projectors. The bench and desk area are clean and it is painted once every year. The clubs that are conducted by the college are: Bhoomithra Sena Club, Red Cross Unit, Jesus Youth, Literary club, Library club, Quiz club, Poet's club, Fine arts club The library contains more than 100000 lakh books and 200 journals and magazines.
