Remarks

I don't see any bad remark about college. Nurturing of skills at the right time was done to the best possible limits.

Entrance Preview

CET 1995 from Karnataka Education Board. Electronics being a hobby from 8th Standard onwards attracted me to this discipline.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

Course curriculum was the best from then Mangalore university. We were exposed to latest technologies available at that point of time. Labs were sophisticated with all relevant equipments. Some of the new technologies which were awaited at that point in time like LED, LCD TV were discussed.

Internships Opportunities

I don't about any internship while I was studying. I had not used any intern-ship or scholarship from the college. At that time the college was under Mangalore university. Presently as I know it is a deemed university.

Placement Experience

4.5

Placements and job opportunities were good. We had campus interviews from major players like TCS, Infosys etc. Our first campus interview was from TCS and assistance provided by faculty and management in getting thru the campus interview is remarkable.

College Events

5

There were cultural programs at least twice a year. It was fun participating in that. There were several chapters like SCITE etc which were functional and helped in other areas apart from academics. Communications skills, inter personal skills were improved by participating in them.

Fee Structure And Facilities

As I had got free seat (with nominal fee) it was worth the cost. Apart from that there were management quota where fee was little on higher side. Though management quota fee was higher still it was for the people who could afford the same for the quality of study.

Fees and Financial Aid

I am not sure of any loan facility or scholarship facility offered by college as I didn't get any. Loans from banks were available at that time.

Campus Life

4.5

Campus life was cool. Work shops and foremans there were very helpful and enable us to understand the work from basics. Gender ratio was 60:40 at that point of time from male to female. We used to have student parties occasionally and used to go out for near by tourist destinations and enjoyed every bit of the time at the college.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

I had not stayed in hostel as I used to travel from my Grand parents place which is 30 kilometers away. What I learnt from other friends was that the hostel facility was decent and even the food at mess was good. Cafeteria served hygienic good food, which we used to enjoy during breaks.

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni network is quite cool. As there are quiet notable alumni who are at very high positions in the world corporate world. We get frequent notifications about any events being held at college or other places involving alumni. The circle is very good.

Exam Structure

Internals were regular but we never felt it was hectic. All the marks would any ways added to the final score. Lab internals were also there which would ultimately reflect in final score. As it was for smaller portions of the full syllabus, in a way it was good to have regular internals to prepare for final exams.

Admission

I had scored good marks in Pre-university as well as CET which enabled me to get a free seat in the college. Course Counselling was done at CET cell, Bangalore and later admission took place. Was asked to complete the joining formalities at the college.

Faculty

5

Faculty were best as per me. They were well qualified with good subject knowledge and very much cooperative. Library had huge collection of books for reference. Our electronics, computer labs were with good equipments and well qualified faculty for any assistance.

Placement Experience:

From your 7th semester you become eligible to get placed and it is mandatory to get internship before you get placed which the college helps you to get and around 400-500 companies visit, and a good amount of offers are made by them. The average package stands somewhere around 11LPA -12LPA and the highest goes to 50LPA-60LPA and the median stands around 9-10LPA.

Course Curriculum Overview:

As I'm in 1st semester. I will update you after my exams. But one good thing is that from this year, internals and externals will hold same weightage i.e., 50/50 If you can score more than 45% in internals which wouldn't be that big of a deal because they'll ask most the questions from class notes. Most of the faculties are average I would say. But some are good professors too. I chose CSE because I find these topics interesting since junior school. And everyone is just jumping into cse is a reason too lol.
