Remarks

I am from Delhi i.e my schooling was from Delhi and because of that Delhi government provides a state quota of 85% in three esteemed colleges 'DTU, IIITD, NSUT'. I already wanted to go to one of them that's why I didn't apply for any other college. As mentioned there is an 85% quota for those who are from Delhi and that's why I got admission at a relatively low rank in such a great college. Admission criteria for these three colleges are simple. First give jee mains and then the individual is required to participate in counselling by JAC Delhi. Fill the details there and then seats are allotted according to preference and rank in jee mains.

Course Curriculum Overview

3

The course curriculum is just okay and a bit old but that's common in all government engineering colleges. I chose this course because of the placements it offers. The faculty student ratio is around 6-7. Teachers are well qualified but still, students don't like to study from them due to the old approach and the boring pattern. Due to this pandemic classes have been online for almost a year and tests are taken frequently i.e around 1 test per month for each subject. Still, tests are very easy and not a bit difficult to pass.

Internships Opportunities

4

Internship opportunities are great. College offers a great opportunity to the students. Almost all major companies of the country come to offer internships. The only problem is the competition in the college. Around 800 students belong to branches like COE, IT, SE, MCE thus competition is a bit tough. Companies like Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Atlassian, Deshaw visa and many more offers internships.

Placement Experience

5

Placements are top notch and maybe the best part of the college. Even For off campus placements colleges provide a considerable brand value but other than that students from the 6th sem are eligible for campus internships. The highest package offered was around 55 lpa. The percentage of students getting placed depends upon the branch.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure is really bad but considering the placements it's fine. Still, fees have been increased tremendously (100% in just 4 years). earlier Same course had half fee but in just 4 years fees had been double. The estimated cost for this program is eight lakh (hostel fee and personal expenses are excluded). Still, the college runs various Financial services for those who truly need them. All in all, when compared to a private college The ROI of DTU is just exceptional.

Campus Life

5

Though our 1st year was completely online still the campus life of dtu is the best in India. There are loads of fests that are organised almost every month (personally I haven't seen them due to covid but told by seniors). Dtu's engifest is one of the most famous fests in India. there are other Fest as well so no problem regarding fests in dtu. Sports and extracurricular activities are also great. I have seen the ground and it was just too big and property maintained. Also, the gardening expenditure of DTU is great. The campus is lush green and clean.

Hostel Facilities

3

The hostel is decent considering the fee. Washrooms seriously need some renovation. The room is average but the best part is a balcony is attached to the room. No AC is provided. Only fans are given but one can use own cooler. Mess is also descent. The quality of food is good and the taste is also okay. The registration process is also not much difficult though several papers are required at the time of room allotment.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is good. I do not feel very pressure. The course curriculum is design by GGSIPU. There is not spefific reason to choose to this course. It was my childhood dream to become computer engineer. I cant say that the curriculum prepares for real world applications because I am just second year students. The exam conducted on semester basis and its not very difficult.

Placement Experience:

Placements at Jamia Millia Islamia are not too high or too low and depend on the branch. Students can apply for placements starting from their 7th semester. Big companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Accenture, and some startups come to recruit. The average salary offered is between 7 to 8 lakhs per year, but there are not many students who get higher packages. About 40 to 60 percent of students get placed. Many students also work on getting into higher studies or look for jobs outside the campus after they finish their degree.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course Curriculum for ECE in my clg is quite up to date and comprehensive, covering both core subjects and emerging areas of technology, which was a major factor in my decision to choose this branch. Course has a balanced theory with practical exposure, supported by great faculties guidance and well-maintained lab conditions. Also you get to choose the type of minor or specilaization you want to pursue after 1st year. Exams are conducted regularly after each semester, and levels are same as any engineering college would have.

If you study passionately and have decent communication skills and some important competencies, I assure you that you will secure a position in a great company. Here at IIT Delhi, you earn what you work for; you can receive salary packages as high as 2 crores, but some offers start as low as 4 lakhs per annum.
