Remarks

I applied to various colleges like VIT PUNE, DJ SANGHVI, COEP PUNE, etc. Due to my selection in the CAP round of CET, I got this college. I made it through the cutoff of the PICT ENTC branch but failed to move to IT or CS. It was a really smooth admission process even during the pandemic. To avoid the risk, only one parent was allowed with the student. We were asked to come early at 8. And it started on time. All the necessary documents were taken and if someone had a doubt, faculties were happy to help. Overall it took me 35 minutes to complete the whole process which according to was very little!!

Course Curriculum Overview

4

This was the course I got based on my CET score. PICT has a very decent faculty-to-student ratio. Most of the First Year teachers have a PhD in their respective fields. They know their subject well. Very few of them fail to express them to the students (maybe because of online teaching). Things are taught to us through presentations and whiteboards. All the material is later provided as well. Exams were yet quite regular and on time. They were of moderate level as compared to our SPPU End Semester exams. I feel it was great because it prepares you for the End Sems.

Internships Opportunities

4

Since I am in the first year and haven't interacted much with teachers regarding this I am unable to provide this information. I do know that there is a committee of teachers who help you through the placements and internships and guide you along the path.

Placement Experience

4

I think it's from Semester 4 that you become eligible for placements. Although you can go for an internship at any point in time. PICT has a very good placement percentage with top companies Microsoft, UBS, TCS, PhonePe, L&T, Yahoo, Barclays, and many more. In the year 2017-18, 66% of students got placed but in the very next year 82% and then in the year 2019-2020 84% of students got placed. The only thing that is a bit troubling is that students in the ENTC department have fewer placement opportunities than CE and IT. I am unsure of my plans right now after my degree, but I do want to go abroad for an MBA degree.

Fees and Financial Aid

I didn't see many hikes in prices this year but I felt that fees could have been less given the pandemic situation. PICT is one of the best private colleges in Maharashtra has surprisingly low fees as compared to other colleges. But given the size of the campus, it may be justified. Apart from that, I got sincere help from the college regarding the scholarship of Pune Municipality. My requested documents were given to me as soon as possible.

Campus Life

3.5

Due to the pandemic, I visited the college only once, during the admission process. The campus of PICT is small as compared to other colleges. No huge playground and huge campus area is little disturbing. There are many tech and nontech events organized like Credenz, XENIA, Scientia, Addiction, etc. Pict has an enormous library with access to many books and journals and the infrastructure of the library is warming as well. Classrooms are airy and big with limited seating to avoid overcrowding. Don't know much about the amenities in classrooms. Don't know much about sports and on-campus activities. DEBSOC is one group that is run by students which helps in overcoming stage fear and excel at Public speaking.
