Remarks

The admission process back then was hectic but now it is easy as it is wholly online. You just have to go to the website somaiya.edu and apply to the relevant course field. Cut off can be high here. Min 70-80%. The college also has a Gujarati minority, linguistic in nature. But relevant certificates should be submitted for the same. 3 cut off lists are displayed and sometimes 4. The college has a large campus and you can even get stationery if you have forgotten. So marksheet photocopies etc you can take there. Prepare 3-4 sets of relevant documents. Take a Xerox to be on the safer side. I will suggest taking someone along with you, your friend or parent anyone since it is a bit hectic process. 3-4 times verification, various affidavits, and then at last payment of fees. Then again you have to wait for generating I'd card. Plus take Dd, because the college is not accepting cheques. Keep asking people for what are they standing in line, sometimes you are standing in other lines.

Course Curriculum Overview

3

The course curriculum is interesting. The teachers make it nice by sharing practical knowledge. All teachers are highly qualified and have years of experience. In the vocational course, the teacher-student ratio is 1:60.

Fees and Financial Aid

I come from a general background had no scholarship but various scholarships are provided in the institute. My fee was 10000 per year so accordingly see to it. The campus here for graduates is not too better, I mean no placements. It is though getting better.

Campus Life

3.5

Vibrant, and different fests take place every year. From Kabbadi, Cricket to squash you can play any sport here, such infrastructure is there plus a coach is provided to you with a nominal extra fee. The classrooms are huge and giant with large windows to pass Light and Air.

Placement Experience:

At TCSC placements are quite good as anyone. Even the SOBO colleges and Mithibai don't have placements as good as us. So this is why I always dreamt of studying here because since last 6-7 years, Thakur College placements have gone better and higher.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The B.com is not a very comprehensive and complex degree to complete for someone who wants to pursue his/her career in finance. It can be referred as an initial start or push start for one's finance journey over the years. Also the relevance of B.com in real world is gradually decreasing day by day.

The good thing is that the college was not strict and was never forcing us to study rather it was seeing to it that it gave us proper advice and help us reach more towards my career goal. The bad part would be there were may staff which was very dull and was not kind, and no importance was given to correct their behaviour although it was evident by all.
