Review of IITK

I wanted to get into a core IIT and wanted to go to IIT Kanpur because of its vast exposure, Hence I had applied for this college only. No, I didn't avail any quota. Admission was purely on the basis of JEE ADVANCED rank. To get into IIT Kanpur b.tech in the Electrical branch, One has to get into the top 1000 ranks in JEE Advanced. Age criteria are generally set by the IIT council, So on average students of age between 17-20 can give the exam. Admission was via the Josaa website, and to confirm our seat, we had to report to the nearest IIT or NIT for verification.

I had chosen for a dual degree in Electrical engineering because I felt comfortable in solving circuits, I had an inclination towards this field. Faculty: student ratio in every IIT is very poor. In IITK, the ratio is 1:10. The majority of faculty is Ph.D. from world-renowned universities, and the remaining have a masters degrees in their respective courses. In online mode, Professors are sharing their content in form of ppt and pdf, and illustrate their course in a very interesting manner. Term exams were conducted online on their usual date and time and were of moderate level.

All well-reputed companies in each and every domain come to offer internships. like coding, finance, analytics, management, etc. companies like Google, Microsoft, Goldman Sachs, detushe bank, McKinsey, BCG, Walmart, ExxonMobil, and many more offer internships to students.

Students from the 8th semester can sit for campus placements. Companies of all domains come every year to hire from PSU like hp, Gail to consulting companies like BCG, McKinsey to core companies like BMW. All well-reputed companies come to college to place students. Highest package for 1.53 crore from CSE stream as an analyst role. 90% of students get placed every year and the remaining go for higher studies or start-ups.

No, There's no particular fee hike policy in the college, and the cost to study varies every year. It is approx 9.2lakhs for a B.tech and 11 lakhs for a Dual degree course. There are many scholarships available on campus, like MCM, alumni-funded scholarships, and other private agencies scholarships. I had been getting an NTSE scholarship. There's no job on campus, Once The person starts pursuing a master's, He gets one.

Antaragini is the annual fest, and one of the biggest fest of India. The library is functional 24*7 and has a lot of variety of books and research journals of each domain, and multiple copies are also present to avoid crowding. Classrooms are equipped with AC, projectors, and blackboards. IITK has more than 15 types of sports activity, from chess to football, There's adequate infrastructure for each sports facility. There are clubs favoring all types of interests, from dance, music, drama to technical coding clubs, finance clubs, people's opinion clubs, etc.

Every room has 2 beds, a single almirah, fan, and tube light. Meal quality is average, and the menu includes various types of vegetables and even non-veg on some days. The hostel is allocated by internal authorities when pre-registration of the semester happens. All the hostels are present within the boundary of campus and are pretty affordable as compared to private colleges.
