Once In a lifetime Experience : College Life

I filled counseling form for Panjabi University Patiala, I got the college in my first round of counseling only but I waited for another counseling as I have also applied for Punjab university (UIET) College. When I didn't get a chance to be part of Punjab university so I opt for second counseling and Started the admission Process with Punjabi University. The admission Process is simple, you need to carry all the official documents like 10th, 12th, IIT Rank Card, DOB, identity proofs, and obviously the cash you need to use for submitting the tuition fee for the course. Minimum marks are calculated solely on the basis of rank we got and the cut-off of the college and if you clear that cut-off, then you got the admission.

The Course is of 8 semesters and I was a part of the Engineering Department. The bulk of the students take admissions in the Computer Engineering Department as the placement rate is fine enough to pursue the career. The quality of the teaching is average and labs are well maintained but not well implemented and students just went to labs to take a chill of an AC not to do any practical work. Less faculty for the practical purpose but they are constantly improving themselves so that they will shape the future betterment of the students. Semester exams are easy to contain the theoretical knowledge, there are practical exams are as well but just for namesake. External Semester Marks: 50. Internal Semester marks : 50 (10 Attendance + 30 MST (Mid semester exam) + 10 Ability).

Infosys provides the internship with the stipend of 10000 and also provides accommodation to the students. TCS provides internships using the NQT test. Projects you worked on while 2 months of training or any personal projects. There are also internal internships offered by the college in AI, ML to promote the use of such technologies.

Placements records are fine enough. In the 7th semester, students are eligible for campus placements. Companies started visiting in the 7th semester only and as placement coordinators, we also had a responsibility to search for such companies which can visit our college and provide jobs to our students or internship. Companies Visited: Sap, bebo technologies, Maruti, Newgen, Infosys, Accenture. Some of the companies are mass recruiter and they offered jobs to the average 100 students. There are also companies which consider only 3 4 employees which are well enough to crack their interview process. 70% of students got placed at that time and this is the continuous record of the Punjabi university patiala to offer enough jobs to the students. Highest Package: 20 lacs Cred (off-campus placement). Least Package: 4 lacs (Infosys).

No fee hike policy. The Cost to study would be 4 lac for the entire course of BTech. Personal longings and day-to-day expenses are not included in the above cost. Provide various scholarships on the basis of sports Quota, EWS(Economically week section), Academic Responses, Sikh Quota. Fees Structure : 70000 (Odd Semester) + 30000 (Even semester). Provides the 100% scholarship to the deserving candidates, they usually need to pay the tution fee only and it would be roughly 30000 instead of 100000. On-campus, placements are there and there are mass recruiters which offer jobs to deserving candidates and provide a stipend to the students during internship or Training.

Life at Hostel is more fun-filled than at campus. We usually enjoy more in the hostel and this is a once-in-a-lifetime experience for every student and this should not be overlooked according to me. technical events and DJ nights are great attractions for the campus students and also for the other campuses in Patiala. We had a huge library (Bhai Naba Singh Library), which is the biggest library in terms of the books available in Punjab. you would get every book you want and you can issue a book for 14 days if you are from the general category and for 6 months if you are from other categories. I don't understand this rule basically. Sports grounds are there and we have sports tracks as well, Basketball ground, Football ground, Tennis courts, and Archery courts as well. We are one of the top universities that won the Maulan Abul kalam Azad Trophy for 5 6 times in punjab. Websites : Punjabi University Placements , Punjabi University admissions.

Hostel facilities are good , Some hyiegnic problems are there and according to me every government hostel have the same problem but still it is the best place for us in 4 years. Meal Quality is good in Boys Mess but not in Girls Mess, i don't know why there is such discrimination , may be they are scared of boys. Registeration Process is you need to fill the hostel allottment form and you can apply for hostel after two weeks of admission and they provide the candidate to whom hostel would be allocate first and this was on the basis of the rank i think so.
