Remarks
Admission was through Entrance Test. I did BSc Chemistry and MSc Chemistry from Jamia Millia Islamia University. Admission criteria- B.Sc. and BSc chemistry with atleast 55% marks. There is no age bar. Admission is Transparent through the entrance Test and according to cutoff marks. There is a quota for Muslim minorities.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose this course because I wanted to pursue my carrier in Chemistry subject. The faculty is friendly they listen to students and help them in any case. All the professors in the department are Doctorate. They give a lecture properly and that every student understands the topic. There are two sessional exams conducted every semester. Exams are conducted in November-December and May-June months.
Placement Experience
Students in the final semester or year are eligible for placement. Various companies like google, TCS, and various International companies also visit for placement. Highest package was 12lakhs/year for a engeenering student placed im Google. Average placement is 3-4 lakhs annum. My plan after degree is to research in chemistry or lecturer in degree college.
Fees and Financial Aid
There are very low fees approx 8000/year . There is minimal hike in 4-5 years. There are scholarship for students who can't afford fees. Hostel fees is 2000/month for mess, and 5000 rent for 1 year. No extra charge for examination and labs is taken.
Campus Life
Fest is conducted in November or March. There is a huge library (Dr. Zakir Hussain Library) having 3 floors and tons of books for every department. There is a seperate study room for Ph.D. students. There is a seperate periodicals room for news and magazines. The library is fully Air-conditioned. Journals and manuscripts are in seperate rooms. The classroom is big enough for 50-60 students. There is a national Sports Ground named after M A Khan Pataudi Sports Complex has facilities for every game There are various political groups run by students.
