IIT Ropar from an insider's glance

The college being a premier institute of country with sophisticated technology and facilities intruguied me. The goodwill of IITs are much higher than most of the institutes in our country. Personally I selected this college after getting rejected from previously mentioned 4 IITs due to mismatch between area of researches. The i scanned the profiles of various professors and found one at IIT Ropar. Luckily, I got selection also.This Institute is yet growing and in comparison to earlier established IITs it yet lag behind in many terms. The openness in terms if attitude among students is like some third grade universities. College infrastructure is fine but still after 12 years of establishment IIT Rpr havent been able to merge its Transit campus into Main campus. Student at IIT Rpr main campus enjoy all modern facilities yet student at Transit campus share room with other guy even at PhD level.Being new campus with less students is a favourable point due to student faculty ratio and the institute is also performing in national and international educational institue ranking.The college is situated at outskirts of Ropar district making it difficult to commute to market on regular basis.

Choosing any specific course relies on its usefulness in practical terms. 6:1 STUDENT-FACULTY RATIO. Most of the faculties are highly qualified having post-doc and other experiences from top most universities of india and world. Teaching method involves innovation that is continuously modified based on feedback of students. The schedules are followed religiously there is harldy any last moment changes. The communication process from administration is very smooth and effective.

I havent been through any internship yet

The students in their last semesters are eligible for campus placements. Reputed companies such as Google, Amazon, Microsoft, eBay, Arista Networks, Flipkart, Snapdeal, Zomato, Tata Motors, Mahindra & Mahindra, Bharat Petroleum, Larsen & Toubro, Meritnation, Kayako, Tata Consultancy Services, HCL, Cognizant, Nagarro, R Systems, SCA Technologies, ITC InfoTech, and Avanti etc. arrive for placing students. the fee hike is done based on genuine reasons only. The relative cost of fee is average at IIT rpr. Students at ecah stake are given opportuinity to grab financial aids from various sources. PhD scholars get stipend from either some govermental body or Institute.Each year companies come to hire students from the various background. The number of selection and companies approaching for campus selection is increasing year by year.

there is one cultural fest "Zeitgeist" and one technical fest "Arohan" conducted in October and february respectively. library is rich with books and online materials. Many abstract database, grammarly and so on are provided by the institute that help immensely in conducting researches. The buildings of department , mess except hostels are fully centralized AC. Sports and extracurricular activities are mostly performed by Btech or PG level students. There are many clubs oriented at different causes such as music club, dance club, biodiversity club, fincom club and many others.

The 1st, 2nd year btech students get shared accomodation with 2 beds in a spacious room. after that every student at main campus of IIT ropar gets single room. Hostel fee is around 18000 for each semester. Meals are served by registered tender holder. The quality of food is average that is a subjective evalution.

Post graduation with NET qualification. Institute have seperate written then interview for admission along with previous qualifications.
