Course Curriculum Overview

This course was chosen due to I have done my post-graduation in material science-related project. That's why i have enrolled in this course. The papers are well related to the research area on which they want to research. There should be some improvement required on the course curriculum i.e there should be some moderns technology subjects must be included and teaching methodologies should be easy to understandable. In a semester generally, two exams were conducted (i.e. mid sem and end sem) and the level is a little bit difficult.

Internships Opportunities

there are many companies that offer internships to students. recently the kangaroo came with an internship opportunity to students with a good stipend for students. and there are some paid research tasks offered to the students by the companies.

Fees and Financial Aid

there are plenty of scholarships available, some offered by the institute itself or from the government as well as privately funded agencies. there is not much change in the annual fee, the complete cost of my education is about 50000. the institute provides a stipend of about 37000. some teaching assistant duties need to be fulfilled.

Campus Life

overall campus life is good, the zeitgeist, aarohan, advitiya and other festival celebrations make the campus environment so calm and happy. library is quite big you can find related books and journals easily. there are various clubs for sports too.

Admission

For the PhD course minimum eligibility criteria is post-graduation required. The application form can be found on the website of the college as well as department-wise also. Application is around 200. An application form starts twice a year, one in summer, in March or April, and another in winter, October or November. Some years Special drive is also open for the OBC Category. The exam is conducted online as well as offline. There is also an interview conducted. The exam is somehow difficult but if you know the basics then it is okay. there should be some month relaxation should be required for those who are current working professionals, on this point somehow improvements are required.

The Student life at IITs is vibrant, Funfull and more challenging.

Placement Experience:

The placements are good. But not God for some departments. Many companies like Tata, google, Mahindra, skyroot, spacefield, Vikash group etc. Offer of 35 lac for google. Google 35lac, Vikash group 7 lac and the average for the total could be 8 lac for all departments. 70% Students get placed and some go for start-up and higher studies

1. It is one of the premier institutes in India. 2. It is near to my home town Jammu.3. The CSE faculty is very good. Almost everyone of them has at least one degree from international university like Yale, Georgia Tech, University of Waterloo, etc.

A place to experience life

Remarks:

It's a good place. No one regrets while being here. As we say beauty is in the eye of the beholder. So it would be very mean to say too good or too bad. It's all about how one feels for himself or herself. Rest, college is good, management is also good. Being a central govt institute you won't face any major issues related to management or else. The things are smooth there.

IIT Ropar: A dream comes true

IIT Ropar is better in terms of research and development. All the faculties and different MoU gives great exposure to students so I have chosen this college . Others iits haves their own pros and cons but like others iits Ropar stands among top 15 iits which is institute of national importance. If I had got more marks in IIT advance then I will surely got other top college but yes I am happy with my college and it's beautiful life that it has given me. Students have to go through jee mains and jee advanced based on that rank they have to enroll in josaa counselling and after that they enter into the college alloted on the merit of ranks. I have applied to other colleges like bits pilani ,jadavpur university that are equivalent to iits . I make it to jadavpur and bits too but preferred IIT over it because of the life , tag ,alums. Jee advanced is mandatory for iits , after that students have to go through josaa counselling to get a seat into iit...Read More

The best out of best about iit ropar

I applied to iit gandhinagar electrical engineering and got rejected as my jee advanced rank was not as par as required to take the course.the admission process of our college is based on an examination called jee advanced and if u get a good rank and pass that examination u can enter our college.i also applied for iit hyd,iit jodhpur etc in which I have got an admission in another branch as I said earlier as I like the electrical engineering branch I joined iit ropar .or college might be worst in sports in comparison to other iits but they are always better than other iits in reasearch orientation side...Read More
