Remarks

The main reason to choose NITC is the feasible fee structure and a worth mentioning placement record. Admission to all Engineering courses took place through JOSAA, a platform to apply to any NIT or IIT after JEE Mains. It's also ranked 23rd by NIRF. I always wanted to go to South India for my studies because I've heard they provide the best education so when I got accepted by NITC, I didn't want to let go off the opportunity.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

B.Tech course is a 4 years course divided into 8 semesters. We have 2 exams each semester, mid sem and end sem respectively. Exams are difficult and practicals are given more value. We have a 1:30 faculty:student ratio. All the faculty members are highly qualified and experienced. Most of then PhD degrees and also gets invited as guest lecturer in various workshops. We have group projects or assignments and also marked on the basis of our work. It's quite fun when we apply the theory in our practicals.

Internships Opportunities

5

Internship is available to all 5th year students provided they perform well in their academics. Orientations are held and we might receive pre placement offers depending upon how we work and our talents.

Placement Experience

5

Almost 70% of the total students get placed every year. The Training and Placement cell helps all final year students to get confident and sure about what to go for and why. We are trained by skilled and professionals. We are also provided demo interviews so that it becomes easier for us. Top Recruiters include Oracle, Nokia, Adobe, Dell and Lenovo.

Fee Structure And Facilities

NITC fee structure is feasible as I said earlier. Scholarships are also available. Though fee structure varies from course to course, NIT charges acceptable fees for the education they provide. Students can avail educational loan from government of Kerala, Lion's Club, Central Government SBI NITC branch. I myself applied for the scholarship and getting a lot of help.

Campus Life

5

NITC is very welcoming. We have RAGAM, our cultural fest and TATHVA, our technical fests and both of them takes place for three days. Both the events make the campus alive and brings lot of colour in our dull, boring lives. But the college clubs also act as a place for refreshment. Drama clubs, Elocution Club, Sport's club etc, all helps students to get rid of the tiredness.

Hostel Facilities

5

I would say NITC provides the cheapest hostel facilities. The food and the menu, is quite satisfying. We have different mess halls for vegetarians and non vegetarians. Hostel is affordable. Registration forms are given at the dean's office after you finish with your admission process.

Admission

There's no GD or PI session for the Engineering courses but other courses have this. All MBA applicants needs to go through both GDs and PIs. For engineering courses, Jee rank is what mattered the most.

The placement here is top notch. This year in my campus the highest CTC offered was 56.5lpa by PALOALTO. Placements process is centralised at coimbatore though. Students are eligible for campus placements from third year or s5. Average package in computing department ranges from 10-12lpa. My plans after degree is to pursue MS: opportunities of which are provided by the college itself. In computing department almost 90% of the students have been placed according to the seniors I talked to. However it is lower in other streams.

Civil engineering is a course with least placement in every engineering colleges. Students are placed during their fourth year in college. Sobha Constructions Ltd is one of the main companies that visits college. 200000rupees package is the average package offered. Les than 25 percent civil engineers get placed. I plan to prepare for GATE exam and pursue more in this course.
