Remarks

Extraordinary facilities and faculties. Best environment to learn new stuffs. The campus is one of the most beautiful in India with rich flora and fauna. Its ranked 7th among the IIT's and especially my department Biosciences and Bioengineering has some of the best professors from their field.

Course Curriculum Overview

The ratio is almost 1 professor per student in my department. All the faculties are highly qualified. Teaching method is so refined and more concept based compared to exam centred teaching in other places.

Class Size: 42Course Fees: INR 150000 per year

Placement Experience

The placement is so good for core engineering groups like mech, civil, cse and eee compared to biotech. biotech literally has only one or two core companies coming for placements. Most of the students after Mtech opt for PhD's.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fees structure is nominal and we MTech are alloted with monthly stipend of 12,400 that almost covers whole of our tution and boarding fees. There are also scholarships that are provided exclusively by the respective state government.

Campus Life

There are lot of clubs for students starting from literary, dance, music, sports, and what not else. The sports arena both indoor and outdoor is great and is completely free of cost for students and there is even a large swimming pool

Hostel Facilities

Hostel facility is good. We are provided with individual rooms on request. The mess food is fine, but nothing compared to home food. Separate hostels for girls and guys. Overall the boarding is very much better

For Placement purpose you must get more than 7.5 CGPA to sit in the placement there are lot of companies which often offers jobs from TCS, Infosyss, etc but you may not get placement in your core subject Average package offered is around 4.5 LPA.

A beautiful college

Placement Experience:

Placements are decent in my branch. But in recent times there is a dip in coming companies.Average package of my branch is 8 lpa and highest goes around 21 lpa. Almost 80 percent students get placed and others choose phd. My plan is to get a good package job.

Entrance Preview:

I had qualified GATE entrance in 2016 and score 398. Gauhati University is the oldest and best university in the entire north-east. Gauhati University has more than 30 departments and known for its quality education. It is located in the capital city of Assam and have a very beautiful campus. Railway Station and Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport is near by it. Its one of the best University of India i have visited in my life.

I have applied for DTU & IIITD where I got Software Engineering Branch through the JEE Mains Scores. But since I was sure to join old IIT. I was not sure much about branches so, I just filled all the core and circuital branches of all Old IITs. I wasn't able get other top IITs as my rank in JEE Advanced was not that level.
