Remarks

IITK is among the oldest IITs. The average salary is good after graduation, the alumni network is good, the education is considered to be good, IIT Tag is considered useful by the society. I had gotten a good ran k in JEE advanced but not in JEE mains so NITs were out of picture and I did not want to go to a private college

Course Curriculum Overview

4

Curriculum is outdated, too tough for no reason, They do have some good academic freedom but given the current state of events that won't be the case for long. The faculty might be good in research but only a handful teach properly and most of them are useless in both research and teaching. The culture among faculty is crooked and the professors have a really huge ego.

Placement Experience

4

Placements are usually good, we had 80% placements for UG students in the first year of the pandemic. If you prepare seriously then you are almost sure to get placed in some company or the other but the college can only get you into contact with the companies coming. The faculty do nothing about the placement as the academics are not geared towards industry but the student run, Student Placement Office does a fantastic job every year.

Fee Structure And Facilities

There are no scholarships for you if you fall in the general category and have a family income above 6 LPA, otherwise you can easily get a scholarship. The fees is at par with other private colleges and it is just a myth that government colleges are cheap now.

Campus Life

3.5

Annual fests are : 1) Antaragni, cultural fest conducted usually in October, 2) Udghosh, Sports fest conducted usually around august-october, 3) Techkriti, Technical fest in january. There are a lot of clubs and the social life is great however the freedom as been completely clamped on during the pandemic and I am not sure how things will turn out in the future.

Hostel Facilities

5

Hostel facility is good, it has a mess, laundry and house-cleaning included. The hostels are affordable and cost around 3000 a month plus some additional payment of 5k every semester. The staff is usually friendly and the Hostel management is taken care of mostly by an elected student body.

Course Curriculum Overview:

When I didn't get into MBBS at first, I used to run away from veterinary because it was never my first choice, but as I kept growing, I got to know the opportunities and vastness of this field, which motivated me to keep going. You can do whatever you want after BBVSc, be it a government job as an VO or preparing for civil services, or you can open your own clinic in any city. Exams happen every 3 months or 3 times, which you have to pass so that you can sit in final exams that happen just after the 3rd internals. Internals usually are easy, while final exams are moderate and hard, along with the practicals also.
