Remarks

I had applied for various colleges like RCC, IEM but I selected this college because this is an anti-ragging college and no union problem like other colleges. I don't like student politics and so this college was a safe place for me. Apart from this, this college maintained strict discipline. I am from the general category so I didn't avail myself of any quota. Joining this college was mainly based on wbjee rank. My rank was 5800. So I easily got placed in this college. Apart from this, you need to have at least 50% in physics, chemistry, and maths, which I fortunately had. The admission process was rather simple. On the day of counseling which was held at Yuva Bharati, I selected this college based on my particular choice as I have stated earlier. Then I was told to submit a draft of 15000 in favor of the college I was choosing. Then carrying that demand draft I had to reach college and complete the remaining formalities

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

I always had a passion for electronics right from my childhood. This is one reason. Apart from this I always wanted to appear for IES exam for which I had to pursue engineering from 4 core streams. Apart from this, my relative who was from the electronics stream advised me to take up electronics and communication. Class size was around 70 and 1 teacher was allotted per 70 students. It was absolutely fine. The teachers were quite educated. Most have done their Mtech. Some had graduated from IIT/NIT but all the teachers were really qualified enough to teach us. If we had the slightest doubt in our mind we can easily approach them. They were so helpful We used to have two-semester exams and 2 internal exams. All the exams were timely. The internal exams were easy and the semester exams were moderate to difficult in nature.

Internships Opportunities

4.5

We didn't have the opportunity of getting a stipend while doing an internship. Actually, I did my internship in Tata Teleservices where we learned a lot regarding tower, regarding the distribution of spectrum, regarding BTS, and garnered a lot of ideas regarding signaling equipment. In fact the employees who were working in that idea used to explain us a lot of thing using PowerPoint presentations and obviously with help of projector. However, some students of my batch were lucky who got the chance of doing an internship in Tata Steel where they got around 5k as an internship for doing some tasks. Others got the opportunity of doing an unpaid internship in Indian Railways In an internship, we were asked to do project work where we faced a few hurdles. After completion of training, we were asked to make a PowerPoint presentation of what we had learned in our training and apart from that a total analysis of what we had done over there had to be submitted in printed a4 sheets with spiral binding.

Placement Experience

5

From the 4th year onwards people were eligible for campus placements. Mainly in our college Cognizant Technology Solutions had always been the principal recruiter. Apart from this other companies like Infosys, Itc Infotech also came and hired many. The highest offer was 5 lakhs and it was offered by Cognizant. 3 lakhs was the minimum package and average students got 4 lakhs packages per annum. 88% of students got placed during our time. Those students who did not get placement in these colleges got offers from others like ZTE Solutions, Odessa Technologies, Vodafone Idea now named VI, Sonodyne etc. In cognizant you will be given the role of Programmer analyst and in Infosys, you will be getting the role of Systems engineer on joining. There is no bond in cognizant whereas in Infosys you will have to make a bond and the bond duration will be of 1 year. I dream of either sitting for IES exam or pursuing an MBA after passing out of college.

Fees and Financial Aid

At first when we joined the college we were required to pay 40000 per semester. Next from 3rd year onwards the rule got slightly modified. Now we had to pay additional 1k per semester so we had to pay 41k per semester for 3rd year. In 4th year again increment of 1000 meant 42k per semester for the 4th year. There were basically two types of scholarship: one was for students who belonged to minority category who were offered 100% scholarship on tuition fees. Other scholarship was especially for toppers who got 10% off on tuition fees. I belonged to that category. If we speak about the internship I did my internship with Tata Teleservices where I got the chance to learn many things and this was a subject in my 3rd-semester exam also. There was no stipend offered to us, however. On the campusing day, I got selected in Cognizant with a whopping package of 3.03 lakhs per annum and I contended with the package offered to me.

Campus Life

4.5

The annual tech fest which was organized in our college was named "Srey". It was concluded mostly in the months of February or March. For that preparations used to begin long time ago since we need to meet students of other colleges for inviting them and also for organizing sponsors. The events which took place over here included Sudoku, Impromptu, Maths quiz, Robotics, and various other events. Another fest which deserves mention is Cultural fest where only students of our college took part and did singing, dancing to the best of their abilities. The classrooms were neat and clean. There were desks and chairs for everybody in the classroom. The library was clean, almost all types of study materials were available so we need not need to purchase anything from outside. In fact, the WiFi available on the campus was super fast so we can do our project works at ease. Sports include intradepartmental football, badminton, cricket and there was competition regarding carrom also.

I’d rate HIT’s placement opportunities as 7.5/10 overall. It’s very good for CSE, IT, and ECE, decent for Electrical and core branches, and improving every year with more companies visiting and better preparation programs. If you’re skilled and consistent — especially in coding, communication, and aptitude — you’ll almost certainly get placed before graduatin

7th semester is when the students get to sit for placements. I am not sure about the total no of companies visited but I am aware of the name of few companies like IBM Infosys Wipro Capsitech Tech Mahindra cognizant etc . Mostly the girls are 100 percent placed cause there is diversity hiring. Mass recruiters is what visit our campus mostly.. I personally would look for a job after graduation highest package offered displayed by college is 75 lpa but I don't think so it is real. Maybe someone had worked hard and got placed off campus. On campus highest isbi guess 12-14 lpa

Course Curriculum Overview:

- I choose Data Science as it is new to my college when comparing with the other branches. The curriculum is just okay it is not per industry standards but if students deep drives in each aspects then they are likely to crack GATE exams. - The whole curriculum needs and improvement from the very 1st Year and removal of irrelevant subjects like Discrete Mathematics, Electonics, Biology for IT branches are required. - Semester exams are conducted every 6 months and CTs are conducted every 2 months
