Remarks

One of the best colleges in Karnataka for Mechanical Engineering. Admission takes place through KCET (a common entrance test to join an engineering course in Karnataka). I got admission through the rural quota. Everyone needs to clear KCET.

Course Curriculum Overview

The faculty: student ratio is 1:25. All the faculty are doctorate. They have experience in industries too. They prepare us for sem exam from day 1 and also college has a good laboratory. The college has an EICHER workshop, which helps students to get practical experience much more.

Internships Opportunities

The college has collaborated with many companies for internships. Students can involve in internships on holidays or after course competitions. The internship period ranges from 1 to 6 months, it depends on the internship.

Placement Experience

Infosys co-founder N. R. Narayana Murthy was alumni of NIE. MNC companies visit for placemen. The highest package till 2020 is 48 LPA, the average package is 4.5 LPA. 96 of students get placed every year. Mercedes Benz, Toyota, Google, Infosys, Wipro, LT, Mahindra, TATA and so on, visit for placement.

Fees and Financial Aid

NIE has two kinds of college, one is Private aided here fees is 45000 per year. The 2nd one is private unaided here fees is 85000 per year. Students can avail themselves of post-matric scholarships by applying online.

Campus Life

The college has a lot of fests to help students. Every month 1- 5 fest will be there depending on availability of time. Every fest is available to all the branch students. The college has state of an art library. There are around 5000 books in the library. It has an online library too to help students.

"BIET Davanagere: A Hub of Opportunities with Room for Improvement"

Placement Experience:

We enter the placement at the end of 3rd year almost at 4th year(6th to 7th semester). The placement cell organizes various traning program, including mock interviews, group discussions, and communication skills workshops. Past 3 to 4 years more than 10 companies per year offered hiring 100+ students. But over the year the companies have come down and providing les opportunities. Companies like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, etc recruite students from this college. The highest package is 25LPA and the average package is around 6LPA. Due to the increase in the rate of admission, the percentage has been decresed. Almost 25 out of 100 students are getting placed in this college. After getting degree, I will try my level best to get placed in campus itself. If not, I am interested more in Competitive exams, I will focus on it.

From the 6th and 7th semester students are eligible gor campus placements. Students are asked to apply for the campus placements from the career development department of the college according to the marks. Some companies visited are like jspider, qspider, Xworkz, kodnest, Infosys, 3 q sutantra, toyota, triveni,idea infinity,edgeverve, eton ,dfm technology, tata elaxi, enventure and many more. And highest package in 8 to 12 LPA. The students are placed according to the companies requiments min 20 students are placed outof 50 students My plan is to get a good, high paying job after completing my graduation.

The Pros and Cons of being a student at MIT Manipal

Placement Experience:

From the7th sem onwards campus placements are put in place for btech students. Many companies such as microsoft, google, BMW, mercedes, accenture and others look for students here. The top 100 of each branch get the highest packages with the average of that being 22lpa for the cce branch. The rest of the students that are placed have an average salary of 14 lpa. Almost all the students are placed with the placement rate being around 90% for my branch. I plan on working for 2 years after getting placed and then pursuing an MBa degree abroad to further my tenure as a valuable asset to whatever company takes me under their wing.

Placements are good in college . Highest package was 52 lpa in 2024 and average was 9-10 lpa. But the percentage was very less in 2024 because of recession and negligence of placement cell and their bad decisions.

I came to nie through kcet. Kcet application can be found in the website of kea. I availed rural quota. So the first round cutoff was around 9201 for information science. Honest review of The national institute of engineering

I got admission in this college from entrance exam named comedk it is conducted all over India. In comedk questions will b asked on 12th phy chem and maths. I got seat via KCET. KCET is held once a year . It's engineering entrance exam for colleges in Karnataka. After the exam there will be counseling and usually the cutoff for NIE Mysore CSE and ISE is around 5k to 6k .
