Remarks

1. I applied to RVS Jamshedpur for my engineering admission, but I heard it's not worth it. Just hype for being in Jamshedpur. So better I focused on counselling and then I opt for University College of Engineering and Technology, Vinoba Bhave University Hazaribagh. 2. The admission criteria is simple. At our time in 2017, jcece was for admission in Jharkhand colleges apart from ISM and NIT JSR. Minimum marks in 12th were 75% and rank for my college was <2600 for ece branch in 1st counselling. My rank was 2492 and I got admission in UCET in 1st counselling. I'm 2nd counselling the rank raised to 6000 ranks for ece branch in ucet.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

1. The main reason for admission to ucet was I was getting my favourite branch that is Electronics and Communication Engineering. ECE has vast knowledge and beyond scope experience in future. And here we don't need to deal with heavy machines, it's a clean branch. 2. The student and faculty ratio is good. I guess it's 10:01 and the faculties are very supportive and knowledgeable. Though some faculties are not up to the mark, the rest are worth teaching. 3. There are two types of faculties, one from TEQIP and others are permanent. TEQIP faculties are very good and try are actually ones who are handling the college, but permanent teachers seriously lack in knowledge. Even i guess if there would be any entrance exam for BTech admission, they will not even pass the exam. In short, our college totally depends on TEQIP faculties. 4. The worst part of our college is the management. There's no fixed schedule of exams. Most of the times, we were notified a week before the exam. Exams are moderate.

Internships Opportunities

2

1. No company visited our college for internship purpose. Yes, there are various online internships for VLSI, microprocessor etc but all are paid ones. That means the student has to pay for joining the internship. Students apply individually in other colleges like IIT and IIMs as well, all depends on the required skill the professor needs under whom the student is applying for. For IIMs, the stipend is 15000 pm if one gets selected. In brief, college should focus on internships apart from them in which students have to pay. 2. Projects are mandatory after 1st year end exams. Especially from the 5th sem, external faculty visits college for viva and projects and that time one has to show what he made. Projects like temp monitoring using Arduino, circuits using oscillator, IoT based projects are always in demand and they are most welcomed during viva.

Placement Experience

3

1. From the 7th semester companies start recruiting. 7th-8th are meant for placements. The whole session focuses on communication and technical skills. 2. Company like Pelican Pvt limited offering around 2.5-3 LPA. Around 4 students joined the company. Rest companies were offering in the same range 2-3 LPA. Some were as high as 3.5 LPA, few were as low as 18-2.2 LPA. 3. Highest package offered was from TCS (off campus) offering 3.5 LPA. Including all the packages for on and of campus, the average package was 2.8-3.2 LPA. The job roles differ for each company. Students were offered jobs for the technician, sales, assistant manager etc. 4. For students after the interview, more than 60% of students were placed while few were on the waiting list too. As off campus is better than on campus in terms of package and location, most students focus on placement apart from college. 5. I will go for higher studies like MTech for a better understanding of my branch and better pay as well.

Fees and Financial Aid

1. The fees was moderate according to the location. We cant expect a high fee in Hazaribagh, neither a low one. The tuition fee was 25000 per semester with an additional 2550 for the examination fee. That means in one year total charge is 55100. So for the entire engineering, the total fees are 220400. There are no additional charges apart from this. Yes, you have to pay around 100 if the library card is lost, that's it. 2. There is one scholarship called e-Kalyan from the Jharkhand government for the needy ones whose family income is less than a lakh annually. More than a couple of months are needed for the fund to reach an individuals bank. 3. Regarding placement, around 5-8 companies recruits every year. This year all companies held their interview online due to pandemic. Few companies were Pelican Pvt limited etc. The packages were low, around 15-20k per month. That's why only a few students go for on campus placement. Most seekers try off campus as it offers a better package and location.

Campus Life

4

1. The annual fest is for the entire Vinoba Bhave University. Our college has no annual fest. Yes, it conducted a tech fest, but that was very simple and lacked technical knowledge. The university annual fest name is Jhumar, it is organised around October each year. It is worth visiting and there are several programs and cultural activities. Students from the entire university and its affiliated colleges participate and it's really enjoyable. 2. There are more than 10k books in the central library. All students are given library card same as atm card for library purpose. Books are generally available, but during exams, few books go out of stock. 3. The classrooms are different for each semester. The rooms and spacious and fresh. Students are also taught in seminar halls, having a capacity of more than 150 students. 4. Students participate in sports like basketball, cricket, football, badminton, volleyball etc. The college focuses on a sports event and sends students to various sports meet on demand.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I will rate the course curriculum decent because it cover the basic engineering concepts that made me choose this course and it prepare us okay for real-world or higher study, but still more practical work and updated teaching method needed, and exams come mostly every semester with some internals which are moderate tough but manageable with regular study. There are some teachers who teach very well and have good teaching methods.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I feel the course curriculum is okay and the basics are covered well, which is one reason I choose this branch, but some subjects feel outdated and not fully connected to real industry work. It prepare us for further studies more than practical jobs. Exams come every semester with internals in between, difficulty is moderate but few papers become tricky. I think more practical topics, updated labs and better teaching methods will make the curriculum more useful...

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum exam ready for students of mechanical engineering it focuses on industrial level exposure and for other competitive exams like gate and IES with good faculty who teaches almost all concepts. There are labs for each subject in which we get real world application knowledge. Also course is updated regularly as per the requirement of industry . The course can we improved by making course more practical rather than a writing all things on practical it should include project for students. Frequency of exam is that in every 15 days there is a exam with moderate to difficult level.

Percentage of students getting placed in CSE/AIML is 75, ECE 69, EEE 60, Mech 58. My plans after gettting degree is to get into job sector only for a while. No such higher education plans as such.

At BIT Mesra third is like full of practice for placements and final year more of placements activities than studies. So, when all these things are in order placements obviously will be more or less certain and here they are certain only with almost 90% students are places through campus with annual placements of 8-10 lakhs per annum.

One of my colleges best features is its placements program, which offers fantastic chances for students to launch their carrers. In the fifth and sixth semesters, students are prepared with aptitude training sessions, group discussions, and resume construction. About 85% of qualified pupils were placed during the previoes school year. Compared to core engieering fields, placements rates were marginally higher in IT branches.
