Remarks

I had applied for NSUT, IIITD also but nsut was far away from my home and the fee was heavy in IIIT Delhi. So, I preferred DTU. For admission, I availed my OBC quota. My percentile was 92 and got ECE branch here. After the seat was confirmed online then we had to produce the required documents like Aadhar Card, JEE Marks, 12 certificates, category certificate for verification during counselling on the date mentioned.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

I was fascinated by Electronic gadgets since childhood and was often busy doing experiments with instruments like mobile phones, speakers, calculators etc. That's why I chose the ECE branch. The faculties are good and the teacher student ratio is around 1:50. Some of the teachers are interesting but some are boring. In offline there were only two main exams - midterm and end-term but online the scene is a little bit different. Now, we are required to give 2 surprise tests and 3 class tests in place of end-term & a project of each subject instead of the midterm exam.

Internships Opportunities

3.5

Internships are provided to brush up on whatever one has learnt and to apply it in the real world along with some earning. They are provided by startups or even big companies like Amazon, Google, Samsung for a short duration (a few months). During the internship, the student is required to work on a project or perform an allotted task in a given span of time. It may be graphic designing, web development, machine learning, Verilog circuit design etc.

Placement Experience

4

The placement is average. It all depends on the capability and skills of a student. The students can do internships from 2nd or 3rd year but the final placements generally take place in the final year. In the previous year, 250+ companies had visited the campus giving 1400+ offers from all branches. Big Companies like Microsoft, Amazon, google, IBM, Siemens also hire students from the college. The highest package goes in crores but it's just for 1 or 2 students. So no need to focus on it.The average package is around 10 lakhs per year. The students having required skills and a good cgpa are more likely to get placements. After the degree, I will join a good company.

Fees and Financial Aid

The average fee per year is around 2,00,000.it was 1,66,000 in the first year but the fee increases by almost 10% every year. However, the college provides 25%, 50% or 100% Fee concession on an economical basis on the recommendation of the fee concession committee. Delhi government also provides merit cum means financial assistance to economically weaker students. However, only one of them can be availed at a time. There are scholarships too but very few and difficult to avail.

Campus Life

4

Life at DTU is good. Besides studies, we have a lot of options to enjoy and explore. The annual cultural fest 'ENGIFEST' is one of the top college fests in the whole of North India. The fest continues for 3 days and marks the happening of 30,35 events in total like bike racing, painting, crafts, dancing, beatboxing etc. On every night of the three days, there is a famous celebrity entertaining us. In the past years, singers like Papon, Sidhu Moosewala, Rapper Divine, Vishal Shekhar have visited. Along with this, there are tech fests, literary fest YUVAAN and sports fest 'AAHVAAN'. The sports complex consists of courts for several games like kabaddi, volleyball, basketball, table tennis, cricket etc. But most often, the students desiring to play the same game become more in number and so some are deprived to play. The library is a 3-storey building having books of various subjects from engineering and science to humanities, storybooks and novels. There are many techs & non-tech club.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would say the course curriculum at DTU is quite relevant and comprehensive. The reason I chose this course was the mix of strong fundamentals in the first year—like Maths, Physics, Chemistry, and Programming—followed by department-specific core and elective courses that allow some flexibility and specialization. The curriculum gives a solid foundation for both real-world applications and further studies, especially through hands-on projects and lab work. That said, some areas could be improved, like including more industry exposure, internships, and practical case studies to bridge theory and real-world problems. Exams happen twice a semester (mid-terms and end-terms) and include assignments and projects as part of evaluation. While most exams are manageable if you keep up with the coursework, a few subjects can be challenging, and preparation is key to avoid surprises.

Placement Experience:

The annual placements at NIT Delhi are consistently getting better year by year where the top branches such as CSE, ECE, and IT are leading the way with their strong placement rates. Many students get hired at very attractive salaries by well-established companies like TCS, Infosys, Cognizant, Microsoft, and Amazon. For example, the CTC of the best offers have reached as high as ?15–20 LPA in some instances. The Mechanical, Civil, and Electrical branches also contribute to the university’s overall placement record to some extent. Those students usually boost the available opportunities for themselves by taking up internships and off-campus offers. Moreover, the students who fail to get a job on the campus can still benefit out of the college atmosphere where the strong basics of coding, projects, and practical skills are taught which makes the students quite employable at startups, off-campus, or even when going for higher studies like M.Tech/GATE/abroad. To sum up, NIT Delhi is a very solid foundation for the students whether they want to have a career or continue with their education.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is relevant and comprehensive, with practical modules and industry-focused content that influenced my choice. It effectively bridges academic knowledge with real-world applications. However, adding more case studies and interdisciplinary approaches could enhance learning. Exams are well-timed but could better assess critical thinking. Teaching methods would benefit from integrating more interactive and hands-on sessions.
