Entrance Preview

JEE-Mains is the exam through which I took admission. I scored 192 marks out of 360 and got AIR 2231. The reason behind choosing this college over some top NIT's like surathkal, allahabad, Warangal is the placement record and reputation of the college. It is possible that u may hear it's name for 1st time but NSIT has excellent reputation among companies. One more thing which I considered is that this college is situated in delhi so it would give me more exposure. And yes 85% seats in NSIT are reserved for delhi category students. For admission keep an eye on JAC delhi website as admission are not done through JoSAA.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

Syllabus of NSIT is the best engineering syllabus among all engineering colleges in India. SYLLABUS is even better than IIT's. It is choice based credit system which is an international system adopted by universities like Harward, Oxford, Yells, MIT etc. Though study structure is not research oriented. Syllabus in NSIT is updated in 2016 and choice based credit system is introced for the first time in engineering college in India. For further details one can visit website of NSIT and more preferably website of DU. It is untidy to give those vast details here.

Internships Opportunities

No, college doesn't provide internship but startups and companies came to campus to provide internship in third year even in second year if you are skilled enough.

Placement Experience

5

NSIT means placement! placement! Placement You have to take care that you score atleast 75% and then Bhatia sir will take care that you get placement guaranteed. Last year 8 students are placed in google and grabbed package of 1.25 crores. Every major company visit college for campus placement like google, facebook, Microsoft, Tesla, samsung, nvidia, intel, amd etc. To an IT student on average 20 lacs per annum is offered. And overall average including all branches is 6 to 8 lacs per annum.

College Events

4

So many events are organised in college by different tech and non tech societies of the college. And there are 3 fests of college which are the grand events of delhi students from different colleges of whole delhi and india participate in them. Moksha is the most grand fest of NSIT after this fest a dj night is organised which is most colourful day of college life. Resonanz is the intra college fest. Technovision is very grand tech fest.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee structure of college is feasible as it is a goverment college. Total college fee for 1st year - ₹1,25,000, 2nd Year - ₹1,35,000, 3rd Year - ₹1,45,000, 4th Year - ₹1,55,000, hostel fee is about ₹80,000 for a year and this is feasible. Concession is also given to students of different categories and of BPL families. Scholarship is also given to sportspersons and to the students who secure top position in end sem.

Fees and Financial Aid

College give scholarship to sportspersons and meritorious students. Scholarship is given to NTSE scholars. Scholarship is given to branch toppers of college. Load facility is also available to the student belonging to BPL families at 0 interest rates. And this loan has to be paid after 4 yrs of completion of course.

Campus Life

3.5

Campus life at NSIT is unique and it will give you so many opportunities to develop yourself. So many fests events competition give you excellent exposure. Gender ratio is low as it is an engineering college in which taking admission is not an easy task. I think gender ratio is 1 girl per 6 boys. Yeah fair enough than IIT's there are no political activities in the college which is the best thing. Though 85% seats are reserved for delhi students but those delhi students are also from all over country as you know delhi has so much diversity. In NSIT there is no discussion on religion, race, ethnicity. No discrimination. No one will ask race or religion or caste.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

Hostel facility is not excellent but yeah very good hostel facilities. Sufficient seats for students as 85% seats are reserved for delhi students. Proper facilities are provided especially in girls hostel where they get attached bathroom kitchen and even electric geyser. Boys hostel have sufficient number of common bathrooms and hot water is provided through solar geyser. And yes mess food is also good. You can't compare mess food with food at home but still it is gud enough.

Alumni/Alumna

NSIT has strong alumni network. Till now I don't have any interaction with my alumni but seniors say that if you need help regarding career and startup alumni are always there to help. Mostly seniors are very helpful and there is no ragging in the NSIT. In my first week seniors regularly visit our classes I.e. classes of 1st year students, and clear each doubt of us regarding college they shared their experiences, they told us about hangout places to hangout with friends or girlfriend. Really you will find nowhere such good senior - junior relationship.

Exam Structure

Timetable is different for each bach and each day. For example, for my section Friday timetable is very hectic otherwise chill. But there are exams after exams. Midsem then internal practicals then end sem then external practicals then projects. And yes there is random marking in the end sem exam. And to get good marks in internal just one suggestion never mess up with your teacher. And yes 75% attendance is must to sit in the exam. Even if you give medical 50% attendance is must.

Admission

Admission in NSIT is completely JEE mains rank based. And yes 85% seats are reserved for delhi category students. Those students who have passed 12th from some school of Delhi are considered as delhi category students. Notification for admission are released on the website of JAC Delhi and in News papers just after the jee mains exam . First you have to register yourself on JAC Delhi Website registration process starts just after the declaration of JEE mains marks. Complete process is online. After registration you have to fill your choices college and course choices this process starts after declaration of JEE mains ranking. Through JAC admission in NSIT, DTU, IIITD, IGDTUW are done. After 10 to 12 days from declaration of ranks of JEE Mains. After that through counselling college and branch is allotted to you according to your rank and order of choice filling. After first round you have to accept seat to take part in further round. For seat acceptance you have to give admission fees which is refundable at a later stage till a specific date. If you accept seat and doesn't freeze the seat you are considered for upgradation in further rounds. Upgradation means allotment of you choice of higher order. Suppose if you are allotted your 4th choice than after upgradation may be you get your 2nd choice. After accepting seat you have to go to the college in which you have allotted seat for verification for once after that you have to go to the college finally at the time of joining.

Faculty

3

Faculty of college is qualified but not much interested to teach. You know the fact "sarkari teacher to kamchor hote hi h" same case is here. Some professor are really very good they take interest and you can reach them for clearing your doubts. Otherwise you have to study yourself.

All Big Companies like Google Microsoft Apple Goldmansachs Mckinsey etc. Highest package offered till now in 2025 is 85LPA (Atlassian) Average of CSE is 17 -18 lpa . almost 53% people get placed in 2025 (recession time). The placement rate here is around 70-75% on an avg in all branches and sometimes even higher. After 1st year only , multiple opportunities starts coming . After 1st year and before 2nd year , basically in summer vacation we have to do a compulsory internship (college also provides) and we are provided a credit for that . Then multiple opportunities like GOOGLE STEP ,amacon internship , etc come.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The university doesn't beat around the bush while deciding the courses. They have picked only the subjects and the curriculum that are suitable for our field and focus on making us future-ready. Some subjects might seem a little fast-paced, but if you are consistent enough, you won't face any problems. It is safe to say that the exams and things taught in most the subjects are same to that of its so there is no lacking behind in that aspect.
