Overview to the internship offers

I undertook the dual degree course (5 years integrated degree) which BITS provide to the students. I got admission to MSC. Physics and as per the policy of the Institute, my B.E. degree will be decided on my performance in 1st year. I scored 8.76 CGPA by the end of my first year and easily got Computer Science as my B.E degree whose cutoff was between 8.3 - 8.4 CGPA. There is no minimum age limit in BITSAT, BUT it's just that you can maximum have a 1-year gap in 12th class completion and appearance in BITSAT, i.e. only 1 year of drop year. I had an acceptance letter from VIT Vellore and NIT Hamirpur, I dropped both of them as the education quality in BITS Pilani is compatible with that of IITs and the opportunities and exposure I will get would be a lot better. The counseling takes place online so you are just supposed to wait for your seat allotment and prepare the documents to carry with you to the campus on the day of registration which will be mentioned on the website.

My courses were totally based on my interest and the field I wanted to work in, in the future. There are 2 classes for most of the courses which include lectures and tutorials or labs sometimes. In lectures, there might be a lot of students depending upon how many students enroll in that course. In some lectures of 1st year there is a 1:300 ratio due to common courses for all students and in further years in varies form 1:80 to 1: 150. And in tutorial classes there is quite a small ratio in comparison to the lecture classes, sometimes is 1:40 or 1:80( at max). All of the faculty are highly qualified and follow the standard methods of teaching, using slides, blackboard, and model presentation. If the course is a practical course then it takes place in labs and the faculty-student ratio further decreases to 1:10. The evaluative are taken regularly in the form of tutorial tests and assignments as per the will of the instructor in charge of the course with a fixed date of mid-terms and finals.

Most of the companies that are providing placements to final year students provide internships to the pre-final year students. Projects for app and web development, UI/UX design, graphic design, and financial roles are quite common. Many companies on campus look for software developers too as the test is held.

In the final year, students are eligible for the placements and most of the students who sit for placements are placed. Companies like Amazon, Adobe, Samsung, L&T info, and many more come for the placement with good offering to the students Many students in their pre-final year sit for internships and get their Pre-Placement Offer by the company so they don't need to sit for placements. Each year many students work on their startups and many students join them for that I am personally looking up to higher studies.

The fee structure is released every year for newly admitted students before the admission tells the total fee till the completion of the degree. Every year the fee is increments by 7-10% and hostel charges are fixed at Rs.40,000. The scholarship provided by the administration is Merit Cum Need scholarship and the Merit scholarship. To get a Merit scholarship you need to get a CGPA above 9.8 to 40% scholarship and if you get a perfect 10 CGPA then you will get a 100% academic scholarship which doesn't include hostel charges. You might get informed of some external scholarships via mail. The SBI bank provides educational loans for boys students which are claimed by many students in BITS. 3rd-year students apply as lab assistants and some 2nd-year students might apply for the work as a developer for the website work.

There are 3 main fests that take place in BITS Pilani, Sports fest: BOSM, Cultural fest: Oasis, and tech fest: Apogee. BOSM is held in the month of September for 4 days, with a lot of sports activities and matches with different college's teams. Oasis is held by the end of October, a fest full of excitement, music, dance, joy. Many big concerts of Sunidhi Goshal, Nucleya, the local train. Stand up acts and a lot of fun. Tech fest includes many competitive games many talks with eminent people. There is roughly a club for every field or activity you are thinking about Sports facilities are pretty good but no instructor which is expected. And an inter hostel sport's competition iBOSM is also held in the month of March Each fest has its only Instagram page and website The library is one of the beauties of the campus, a lot of research papers, books, and well-managed sitting arrangements are available in the library and the classrooms too.

You will be provided with a bed without mattress, study table and chair, aluminum almirah, a whiteboard also a small bookshelf in some hostels, not in the rooms of hostel provided to most the first-year students. There will be 2 sockets, 1 tube light for each student and 1 fan in a room. The room is shared by 2 students in 1st year. The process of registration for a hostel is the random allotment of the room and hostel including the roommate. The mess food is pretty good, highly hygienic and the taste is also good.
