Remarks

The placement cell can definitely be improved if possible, Air conditioners should be installed in classrooms.

Entrance Preview

I was keen on studying in Delhi University to ensure i learn from books as well as from people and culture (which DU is known for). The admission to this college was less of my decision and more of what i could get in the marks i scored. I did have a few good options where i could get admission like IP college for girls, Kirori Mal college, Daulat Ram College, etc. But the two factors why i chose Ramjas was: It is a co-ed and it has hostel facility for girls. Being a part of DU North Campus and Ramjas College was a good decision of my life.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

Course curriculum focuses on building strong base for making a career in commerce. It included all subjects, a basic knowledge of which is absolutely necessary to start a career in Finance/Business administration/accounting/other fields. it covers financial accounting, micro ¯o economics, cost accounting, Business Management, Corporate Taxation, business maths, corporate Ethics, marketing, etc. The coverage of topics is fairly wide this kind of curriculum supports one to start in domains for marketing research, equity research, business research, etc. I myself have been in domain of Business research (Sustainability Research). To grow in the research field, you will need learning of certain tools which are generally part of the training program offered by organizations.

Placement Experience

2.5

Back when i passed out, the placement cell was a group of students who invited the companies like Deloitte, Evalueserve, KPMG, Ernst young, for the commerce courses. The package offered was from 2.5-4.5 Lac with Delolitte paying highest and KPMG, EY paying the least. The placement was around 30-40%.

College Events

4.5

A college festival every year with lots of games, and stage shows. It was good 2-3 days break in winters. Another festival was the department fest which was more technical in nature. Students from other colleges also participated. however, the societies of the college were active all through the year: The drama society, the fashion society, etc.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Barely paid 8000-10000 INR peer year as college fee. For Foreigner students, it was about 25000 INR per year. hostel fee for girls for a year was around 30000. No other costs were incurred during the year. If one doesn't get the college hostel, the areas around like kamla nagar, vijay nagar, hudson lane are also decent to stay with a paying guest accommodation for a triple sharing at about 5000 p.m. cost.

Campus Life

3

It was the best 3 years of my life so far. Isn't that how colleges are supposed to be. And i am glad DU, especially north campus, let's you grow as a person. It offers such diversity in terms of people, courses, activities, that your mind opens up and understands, respects and promotes diversity. There are hardly any cases of discrimination because of the strong cells active in the colleges and university, like i was part of Gender sensitizing cell in my college. It gives you the environment & freedom to talk about issues that are generally not supposed to be discussed in the society. And that brings the change in a country.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

Quite Nice. the meals at hostel included fruits, sweet dishes as well. The rooms were decent.Sufficient number of Washrooms, toilets. laundary room with washing machines. After the commonwealth Games, the hostels were renovated and are much better now.

Alumni/Alumna

We only spoke to the immediate seniors. And it was more of about day-to day things. But definitely helpful. The fests were the times when we really worked together a lot, other times we only reached out to them for course related things, etc.

Exam Structure

There was only computer lab which was quite easy. There used to be only an annual exam (in May-June) in 2008-2011 batch and an internal exam (in Jan 1st-2nd week). Internal exams were quite hectic as there were not sufficient gaps between exams but the external exams were not so hectic. There were some projects to be submitted in 2nd and 3 year. Assignments were also not very difficult and easily manageable.

Admission

The admission to this college is based on the scores in XIIth board results. The only form to be submitted was the Delhi University common admission form which covers most of the colleges in DU in April-May. Cut-offs are released by the college in the last week of June. The admission process, which includes filing up forms and submission of qualification documents and deposition of annual fee (of under 10000 INR). has to be completed within 2 days of each cut-off list (whichever the applicant falls in). I also applied for GIRLS hostel along with taking admission in college. the hostels have limited capacity and so are given out to people with highest scores and who are not from Delhi/NCR.

Faculty

3.5

The faculty was very impressive. One of the professors, P.C. Tulsian, is the author of the books widely used in 11th-12th class accounts. Others like N.D.vohra, P. P.joshi, Mr. Dhaniram, Tanushree Jain, Mr. Dahiya, Mrs Manju have been wonderful teachers too. Some of the ad-hoc teachers appointed were not the best, but they managed to keep us in a line.

My liking for accepting influenced my decision to choose b.com hons . The curriculum prepares well for real world applications however I think that work on field give more knowledge. Teachers should teach with real life case studies and examples rather than with the bookish theories. The exam are not that though if you had go through the whole syllabus for once (nicely) you can pass the exam with good marks .

Course Curriculum Overview:

I have chosen B.Com with Economics as my course.Because I have done 11-12 from commerce site and I am interested in commerce subjects like accounts, economics. The problems that occur in this subject It takes some time to understand this. You have to study in the right way and take classes. Most importantly, if you want to score good marks in the exam, then you should not skip any exam, be it theory or internal assessment. In this field you can make your future in the lines of accounting economist, otherwise this course is the best according to me and I like it.And if you go ahead and do higher studies in this also Like you can do higher studies in accounting line Due to which your knowledge will increase further.

I would say, the curriculum is also good, like we have labs, and tutorial classes also, in which students get their answers and their doubts are solved. Area of improvement - There should be proper labs of python lecture classes.

The teaching method of the teachers are the best and their no need to change but some teachers take less time and finishes important topic so they can teach more. The time table of our college is very manageable and the timings of the paper are good and the teacher takes class test on weekly basis so it help us to learn topic easy.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is thorough and pertinent, in my opinion. I chose this course because it helps me understand real-world business situations by covering both the theoretical and practical aspects of commerce, such as accounting, economics, and business law. The subjects are helpful for both real-world employment and future studies like an MBA or CA. Although the course prepares us well, it could be enhanced by including more hands-on learning opportunities, internships, and professional guest lectures. To make lessons more interesting, teachers can employ more interactive techniques like group discussions and digital resources. Exams are scheduled appropriately, but occasionally the timetable feels constrained and leaves little time for review. The exam is at a moderate level and assesses more than just memorisation; it tests our comprehension of subjects.
