Remarks

3 list are generated. Merit-based admission and one-time full payment need to be done if you're selected or else your seat gets occupied till the next list. You need to submit your certificates and grades based on that you are selected.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

I chose B.Sc in Food Science and Nutrition Management a 3-year undergraduate course. I chose this course because I love to know more and more about food. You need to be from the science stream or else you get a compulsory remedial course in 1st semester. We get monthly assignments for each subject. The faculty is highly qualified in their own subjects and some teachers are alumni themselves. Teachers are expertise and their lectures include practical experiences, industry visits, visual aids etc.

Internships Opportunities

5

Students get to intern every year. We go out for informative projects every year. We also go for an educational excursion which is very beneficial. We get to intern for companies like Nestle and Amul, B M Birla, Columbia Asia. An internship of 6 WEEKS is required to get placement. Most likely non paid but we always have a choice to work with government organisations.

Placement Experience

5

Students get to apply for placements in their 5th - 6th semester. Many opt for higher studies and some who will get placed are provided 100% placements. My plan is to definitely get placed. Placements in companies like Nestle, Taj group of hotels and hospitals, CocaCola, Birla group of companies and many other hospitals are achieved.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure is a little high compared to Calcutta University colleges but worth it for the course material and expert, they make us. Scholarships on a merit basis are given to students who top their yearly examinations. We have 100% placements and companies are too good like Taj group of companies, Nestle, CocaCola, Birla groups etc.

Campus Life

5

Annual fests like sports meet, annual program and competitions are too exciting. Here we get to interact and socialise alot. We have a National Social Service group that works for NGO's and the needy's. Badminton championship and stall for food sale are some events organised by students for students.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I've always found economics to be really interesting and thats why I choose to persue it. I wanted to dive deep into the actual concepts and workings of the economy and understand how the world works from an economist's point of view. Sadly the curriculam doesnt bridge the gap between theory and real life. It focuses heavily on textbook and not how the world works.

The Physical Chemistry faculties are the best I got, that influenced me to carry forward my research carrier in Physical Chemistry. The curriculum for the Physical and Inorganic chemistry are upto the mark and I felt improvement in teaching style and curriculum is required for Organic Chemistry part. The difficulty of Internal examination can be improved a bit.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would say the course is good but you have to opt for masters and PhD to get a good placement. After bsc there's not any placement. The curriculum was basically practical and theoretical based. But I think it should be more practical so that we can get a job after doing bsc. The teaching method was good I didn't have any problem with that. As it was under Calcutta University so the exam questions were too difficult, sometimes it came out of our syllabus , i think they should change this a little bit .

Course Curriculum Overview:

The syllabus for BSc. Microbiology Hons. was in line with my interests. Few topics like virology, bacteriology, and diversity of the microbial workd are what drew my attention to pick this course. Although there are some portions which one would consider "boring", but I believe every subject has its interesting as well as boring portions. It's seems fair to judge a subject by seeing if the "boring" portions outweigh the "interesting" parts or not.

Course Curriculum Overview:

In terms of relevance and comprehensiveness of the course curriculum, my rating is solid 4.1 out of 5. Because it offers a variety of courses like compulsory english, environmental science, constitution values of India, Inter Disciplinary Courses where one can opt for a variety of subjects which change along with the course proceeds or semester changes. Not only that two major papers and one minor paper are present throughout the semester. As a student we should be well aware of our country and its law as well as how we can keep our environment healthy followed by sustainable development.
