I took CAT (Common Admission Test). It's an entrance exam for MBA. I scored 90 percentile overall. The reason why I opted for this course was due to the following reasons:- 1. Brand Value 2. Placement Statistics 3.Very Moderate Course fee in comparison to other B-schools 4. Reviews from peers

The course is 4 semester one. This course s HR (Human resource) dedicated. So apart from major subjects like HRD, Performance Management, Compensation & benefits, Intergroup Dynamics, Electives like-HR Analytics, Emotional intelligence are a part of the curriculum. However, apart from majors in HR, we study in the Law school RGSOIPL (Rajiv Gandhi School of Intellectual Property Laws) to study subjects like Labour Law, Corporate Law. We are in collaboration with VGSOM(Vinod Gupta School of Management) for General Management subjects. (Strategic management, operations, Marketing).

Yes, The college offers to do the internship during the break after completion of 1st year. We were a batch of 16 people. The companies that came include Tega Industries, Deloitte, Nomura, Rehau polymers, Altimetrik, Yodlee Infotech, Salto De Fe Consulting. The average stipend was 55,000 INR for two months. I did my internship with Rehau Polymers, Pune and the experience was phenomenal. I got to be mentored by the team in Singapore giving me International Exposure and implementing the HR concepts we studied.

Events celebrated are- 1. Spring fest, 2. Inter IIT Sports Meet, 3. Kshitij Technology Fest. These all are Inter College Fest held on a really large scale. Other departmental events include- 1. Pratyvartana(Alumni meet), 2. HR Conclave meet (HR business leaders meet)

The course fee is 75,000 per semester (Inclusive of the hostel, food). Further details can be seen on the website of MHRM IIT Kharagpur. This is probably one of the most feasible options to go for. It just adds up to almost 4 lakhs for your MBA that is generally fees of one semester in other B-schools.

Scholarships are not available since this is a post-graduation course. but a loan can be availed. However, I have not taken any kind of loan for my fee payment.

In our course, we have amazing gender diversity. 2014-16 batch had a 49:51 ratio (boys to girls). We have Cult Comm (Cultural Committee) responsible for cultural activities organized in the department during Birthdays, Diwali, Holi, and other occasions. The central committees include Hindi and English Dramatics Society, Dance Society, and so on.

The hostel buildings are quite old but we are given all the facilities (water cooler, washing Machine, study table) except the Coolers or ACs. Since it is really hot in the months of March and April so that is the only issue. The mess food is also fine with a lovely breakfast.

We have a central alumni network Alumna Connect, which concepts the alumni from the year 1951. Every year Alumni Meet are organized for a batch on a grand scale. This gives us opportunities to connect with them and share their experiences.

In 4 semester course, every semester we have one mid sems and one end sems. The labs are quite frequent but the curriculum is designed in such a way that you learn by case studies and practicals, so the day even after being a bit hectic is fun to do.

I found this course from the Career Launcher website. The form was available on the IIT Kharagpur official website. The notification about the same is released in the month of November. The interview takes place in the month of February. The admission committee is really cordial and helpful. They are prompt in addressing queries. The interview procedure includes WAT (Essay Writing) and PI (Personal Interview). The scores combined from academics, CAT Score, Work Experience, WAT, PI decides your fate. The results are announced in the month of April.

The faculty is of the topmost academic qualification with lots of research work added to their names. To name a few Damodar Suar, R.K pradhan, Chhanda Chokarborty, one can find a plethora of their work done by them only by typing their name on google.
