Remarks
I only applied for the Graphic era deemed to be university . I don't avail any quota for admission. I applied for B.Tech CSE during the admission and later after 1 year I changed my branch to Mechanical engg . The student must have passed 12th with physics, chemistry, and maths with an aggregate percentage of 60. Also, there were two ways of admission , the first was through JEE Mains Exam score, the student has to go through the counseling session and the second way is direct admission for those students who didn't give any entrance exam, like me. I had 66% aggregate marks in PCM and got direct admission. The counselors were very supportive of my decision and helped me alot through various queries. In the beginning, I had to pay 10,000 rupees for registration and then I filled few admission forms and submitted the fees. Later the registration fees was adjusted in my academic fees.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose this course because of my interest in designing, as we know in machanical engg. we got to design machine parts over designing softwares and that's what fascinated me. About faculty-student ratio , there's 50 students in my class assigned to 1 class coordinator , and we have different subject teachers as well. We are studying under teachers who have done their PhDs and masters, Their teaching method is quite understandable by visualization, inquiry-based instructions, technologies used in the classroom, behavior management, and professional development. We have out mid-term exams after every two months of the semester beginning and then after 1 month from mid sem exam, we have our end sem exam which covers the whole syllabus taught during the 6 months. Whether an exam is hard or easy to pass depends on one's hard work and strategy of studying.
Internships Opportunities
Many companies offer internships to the students of the graphic era nationally and internationally. One of my friends got an internship in adobe. I got to know that few students got a chance to work as an intern for the graphic era itself.
Placement Experience
From the 6th semester students become eligible for campus placements. Companies like Wipro, cognizant , Infosys, adobe, cisco, IBM , Samsung , Yamaha and many more visit our university . Few of them give 200-300 job offers and few give 3-4 job offers. We have the highest package of 43.95LPA and the avg. package of 5.38LPA provided by the companies. Approx 2400+ students get multiple placements. Last year 65% of students get placed and the highest salary provided was 8LPA and the avg. salary provided was 4.5LPA.My plans after getting the degree are to join forces through SSC /CDS or go for M.Tech .
Fees and Financial Aid
About the fees hike policy, tuition fees increase every year.In the first semester, I had to do few one-time payments which either can be refundable or non-refundable. The refundable payments include caution money - 5000/- and Hostel security money- 10,000/- . The non-refundable payment includes admission fee - 5000/- and enrollment fee- 2000/-. Besides these payments we have to do some common payments every semester that includes Examination fee (4000/-) , library and E-resources fee (2000/-) , insurance cover (450/-) , student welfare fee (750/-), sports fee (500/-) , online student information fee (500/-) and transportation fee (1200/-). Our tuition fees vary according to our courses. There are merit-based scholarship ( eligibility criteria varies with courses and branches), defense personnel scholarship of 5%, and girls scholarship of 10%. Currently, i havent got any job from campus with a stipend as i m studying in 2nd year . We got concessions over our fees due to pandemic.
Campus Life
An annual fest called GRAFEST occurs every year in April for 3 days. Unfortunately because of the pandemic I and my batch wasn't able to experience it. We were able to attend the DIWALI CARNIVAL 2019 which was also held for 3 days with numerous participants coming forward to show their talent from the college itself and many different types of food stalls and game stalls were placed inside the campus main ground. It was an amazing experience and those 3 days felt like a relief from all academic and career pressure. Many different inside and outside sports are supported in the campus such as carrom board, chess, basketball, volleyball, handball, football, table tennis, etc. Extracurricular activities include participating and volunteering in different clubs and communities of the university such as art and craft club, poetry club, theatre club, NSS, NCC, and many more. Many clubs are run by mentors (Papertech, Apocalypse, etc) or students such as Green breath, SPE, etc.
Hostel Facilities
Marina hostel was allocated to me during the first year, later I left it because of the pandemic. The infrastructure of my hostel was the best among all the hostels of the university. Spacious rooms, separate bathroom inside the room, one bathroom for each room irrespective of seaters. I was first shifted to the 3 seater room where there were 3 beds with each having their own study table, bedside table, cupboards, chairs, and almirahs. We had our own separate balcony for the 3 of us and living essentials were provided such as a mug, bucket, bathroom stool, clothes drying rack, mirror, and dustbin. We were separately provided with a blanket, quilt, pillows, soap case, bed sheets, pillow sheets, and hostel wears. Sweepers used to come daily for cleaning the room and bathroom. We were given 4-time meals such as breakfast, lunch, evening snacks, and dinner which was always best in quality and quantity. I registered my hostel already during the admission process and the price was a little high.
