IIT dhanbad experience

I chose this college because, Dhanbad is ranked as one of the top management institutes by agencies like Business Today and NIRF. It is a reputed college and the only IIT department which offers a 2 year masters degree MBA programme in business analytics and also provides internships as well. In order to be eligible candidates need to have a btech degree from a recognized university with an average percentage of 60% in aggregate and 55% for ST, SC and Pwd.

The course is a period of four semesters, with the final semester being an internship training.Topics such as Business research methods ,statics, mining in business are covered. These are however just some of the topics which falls under the 1st semester. There are eleven core courses taught altogether in the first semester followed by choosing a specialization in the second semester out of thirteen different specializations.For admissions, interested candidates need to apply through the institute college portal. After the CAT score declaration, the online form submission begins followed by the personal interview. We have highly qualified faculty members like prof. Bibhas chandra and prof Mohd. Imran who is are phd holders. I decided to take up this course mainly because I wanted to study further and pursue my masters for a better job opportunities.

There is a list of clubs and committees to help with placements. training and Placement cell helps the department by acting as a bridge between the student and the organisations that are interested in providing placements and internships. My course also had an internship programme included in my final semester. Some of the top recruiters that visit our campus are Tata steel, amazon and ONGC as well

The cost to study this programme is about 3,60,000, which is payable in four semesters. There are scholarships available as well. For scholarships, the college has a separate portal in which interested candidates can check out the different type of scholarships available.

There are many events being held annually in IIT dhanbad. Srijan is the biggest socio-cultural fest that takes place with over more than 200 colleges taking part in it. It also has a prize money of worth 7.5 lakhs. other events such as alumni meet known as Basant, Concetto an annual management festival conducted by IIT Dhanbad takes place.It also has annual sports known as Parakram and lastly a departmental cultural fest known as Paribimb.
