Remarks

Best college for hotel Management. This is the main factor for choosing this college. I heard from my friends and after a bit of research I was convinced about the same. Situated in the heart of Delhi, it's close to world famous CP market. Students from this college are invited to many food fests taking place in the capital of the country.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

Unique career to choose as many Indians are only oriented towards medical or engineering. Great Faculty and great infrastructure. Talking about student ratios , this is the industry where girls and boys are almost equal in the ratio. There are 2 semesters in an year and each semester has mid semester exams and end semester exams . That means 4 exams in an year which are easy and not very difficult to pass. Just 2-3 days of dedicated study will help you get good marks. There are big modern kitchens for aspiring chef's, a dummy restaurant who want to make a career in F&B department.

Internships Opportunities

5

There is a compulsory Industrial Training that you have to go through. My training was done in Vivanta by Taj , Dwarka . It's a 4 month training program where you work in the main departments of the hotel and try to gain experience so that you can choose your career according to your interests. There you face the reality of the industry and you can make up your mind whether you want to continue in the hospitality industry or not.

Placement Experience

5

All the top hotel brands visit ihm pusa campus starting from Taj to Oberois , Hyatt to Marriott. You're graduating from the best college in the country, so career growth is very good. Many of the alumni students have started their own restaurants or cloud kitchens and they help you to find good jobs if you do not get placed in any brand. The college placement teams also invite retail teams and airlines for placements so that students can choose their career according to them.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The total tuition fees is around RS. 1 Lakh per year , but if you opt for hostel there's an additional cost of Rs. 60000. There are scholarships available for students and the college offers 100% placements. Due to Covid , the college has not been able to deliver this promise as the hospitality industry has been hit hard .

Campus Life

5

There are many clubs that can be joined after joining the college. Seniors will come to your classes to tell you about the clubs. Since it is a hotel management college, the main focus of the seniors and faculty will be building your self confidence and communication skills. There are many food related fests taking place throughout the year. Also the college will be invited for various activities in the capital.

Admission

Yes, there's a written test conducted by NCHMCT every year. On the basis of all India rank , you can fill the forms of the colleges all over the country be it private or government. IHM's are categorized best colleges which are centrally funded, then there are state government funded institutions and then private one. On the basis of rank you'll get the offer letter for the colleges and then you can proceed with the document verifications and all. There are no interviews or GD/PI.

Since it is open learning university..they couldn't give us time.. because the class also got started 1 month before exam...and teachers had to finish...the syllabus. But they don't really care about us. And syllabus I think is okay .. in Commerce. It is updated.

Placement Experience:

Campus placement is done in the 3rd year. The highest PPO given is 24,00,000 to auditing and taxation departments. Average package is about ?15,00,000 to ?18,00,000. Companies like Eay, KPMG and more visit our college for placement. Most students under the commerce department get offered internships. Other than this, the placement cell also actively keeps sending internship opportunities for students to enhance their profiles. I am an English honours student l, thus there is no placement option for me directly unless I take up options from the P-Cell. I have already interned at EY India, Gurgaon, as a forensics and risk management specialist( throigh personal referral). My knowledge (attained from DCAC) of research, report and article writing were used adequately.

Placement Experience:

There was no such provision of jobs or fixed placements however there was a placement cell which was quite active and hence there were opportunities for placements by contacting the cell and placement fairs were also organised that were open for all, but not many opportunities were given. The companies that took candidates were economic times, TOI etc paying a very basic fresher stipend of 10-15k. Very few students actually got to know about these placement drives hence the placements weren't great also not many companies came on campus.
