Remarks

I have applied to some of the DU colleges, but couldn't make it because of the tough competition and the relatively higher cut-offs. I have not availed of any quotas during the admission process. An entrance exam, where all the candidates are then ranked according to their results in the entrance, is conducted to make the admission process more viable. Each college has its own rank cut-off where students are selected on the basis of them. Our college had a cut-off of around 2000-3000. The faculty members who were involved in the counselling did a great job. They made each one of them aware of how important is the quality of education and can play a big role in future, regardless of any college.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

Generally, my family is from a science background. So I had to rely on my friends, relatives, to make a decision on what to do after the 12th. I had no idea that whether this course is right for me or not. The faculty to student ratio was generally 1:60. The faculty members were well qualified in their subjects and were a great support to students in making them clear about each and every concept. Each faculty had its own teaching methods, but some of them were so kind to change their methods if they found that the students were not able to understand their initial teaching methods. Exams are basically the main part of a course. The faculties prepared students for every best and worst situation so that no one messes up during the exam times. Even on exam days, they made sure that each student is comfortable, rather than being nervous. Midterm exams were usually held after two months after the beginning of the semester. End terms were usually held in the gap of 2-3 months after.

Internships Opportunities

4

The college offers internship roles provided by companies like collegedunia, etc, and the stipend is generally based on the performance of each intern. A project is to be prepared on the basis of the internship the student has done. The internship is officially allowed from the 3rd-4th semester.

Placement Experience

4.5

The placement opportunities are generally great. Placements are offered from the last semester. The college has a tie-up for placements with companies like Hettich India Pvt Ltd, ADITYA BIRLA, ICICI Bank, American Express, etc. The highest package as per the latest reports was 17.50 lakh per annum and the average package is 6.8 lakh per annum. My plans after getting the degree are to do a job for at least one year and then apply for an MBA course.

Fees and Financial Aid

Our college provided the course at Rs 98,800 per year. The fees seem quite high, but I think they are reasonable as our college was one of the top colleges in India in respect to their quality of education, quality of faculties, etc. Not much idea on the scholarships or financial assistance, because I have not availed any of them.

Campus Life

4

There are some major events which are held by our college. Some of them are The Fresher's Party, which is conducted for welcoming the new batch to the college, held generally between September- October, and also there were some events which were not possible to conduct among the threat of the spread of the pandemic. The library is worth exploring. Books by great authors, books related to the subjects, guides, etc, and the list go on. The classrooms are fitted with air conditioners and projectors to make the students more comfortable. There have been teams for every possible sport at the campus. Sports are also given priority along with education. Our college has many clubs like the Art club, Sports club, to make it easier for the students to join any club they wish.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The MBBS curriculum is mostly standard, but its relevance is super high because of the massive patient load at SJH. That clinical exposure is the key thing that prepares you for both real life and NEET PG later—that’s why I chose VMMC. Improvements? We need less lecturing and more interactive case discussions and maybe more emphasis on research. Exams are non-stop, seriously! We have internals/semester exams every 3-4 months. They are tough (50% passing), but they force you to study well for the final big Proffs. It’s tiring, but it works.

Course Curriculum Overview:

When I was studying, students were doubling down to study Software engineering, no matter which stream they belong too. But now, Electronics and Communication has become an important area to study as it holds promosing carreer options in the age of AI where we need Chips and hardware design, server management. People in mechanical engineering can excel if they focus on building something rather than just studying. In order to prepare for real world applications, one has to do a lot of things rather than sticking to only one persuit. I don't have much to suggest something in course carriculam and this college has best teaching methods regardless what they are taught. Students have ample time to do things they like in every semister. Studying for nearly 2 weeks before sessional exams and 1 month before final exams is enough and rest of the time can be dedicated into building something important.
