Remarks

IPU admission is primarily entrance-based. The candidates are either selected through IPU-CET or national level tests conducted by various authorities. The university conducts three rounds of counselling which is followed by a sliding and spot round to fill vacant seats. In the three rounds, you can either freeze the seat and take admission or leave it for future rounds. Since I took BBA, the admission criteria were, the person should've completed their intermediate (10+2) from a recognized board. The minimum marks to be secured by a student is 50% in total aggregate. The student shouldn't be more than 21 years old. After freezing the seat in a college you are required to go to the college with documentation on the date given and are required to pay the fees. I applied to MAIMS (Rohini) and JIMS (Kalkaji). The reason for not attending MAIMS was its location as it is in North Delhi whereas I resided in South Delhi.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

I took BBA because it's versatile as it's a combination of theory, practical knowledge application, and personality development and a great foundation for people who want to pursue an MBA after their undergraduate degree. I took JIMS Kalkaji's BBA program because of its faculty, as it consists majorly of PhD holders from recognized universities. Though it was quite a shock when I realized the majority of the teaching is through PowerPoint presentations rather than a more interactive and practical approach. Though teachers do make it an interactive class by assigning assignments, projects, and presentations. The faculty is open to students whenever students need assistance and try to help the students in the best way possible. The faculty: student ratio is 1:15. There are two types of exams internal and externals. Internals are taken in college and are fairly easy whereas externals are taken in assigned centres and can be quite challenging.

Internships Opportunities

2.5

The placement cell of the college is active throughout the year and provides various internship opportunities. Usually, internship offers are from start-ups but companies like Atrasaki, SkillShare, CollegeDunia, etc also provide internships in the college. The average stipend is around Rs 5k - 20k and can be incentive-based or not. The projects given in the internships are fairly practical and help in learning and gaining work experience. In the 3rd year of college, it is compulsory for the student to do at least 2 months of internship for their college project.

Placement Experience

3.5

JIMS has its own placement cell which comprises students and teachers working together to get the best opportunities possible. The placement cell is active throughout the year providing internship opportunities. Internships are made available to all the students may they be freshers or seniors. The campus placement starts at the beginning of September and is only for students in the last year of their course. Companies like Amazon, Godrej, Deloitte, Asian paints, Decathlon, Kent, etc provide offers to the students. The average CTC offered to PGDM students ranges from 6-8 lakhs. The highest CTC bagged by a JIMS Kalkaji PGDM student was Rs. 17.5 Lakhs p.a. For the UG graduates, the average CTC offered ranges from Rs. 2 lakhs to 3 lakhs p.a. The placement percentage of the college is around 95-100%.

Fees and Financial Aid

The cost of the BBA program is around Rs. 4 to 5 lakhs overall. Annually, the fee is close to Rs. 1 lakh. The fee gradually increases as you move on to different years of your course but stays close to Rs. 1 lakh. Throughout the year, the college shares information about government financial aids for students via their registered mail.

Campus Life

3

Talking about the infrastructure. The college has got facilities like, there are two computer labs, one canteen, one GD/PI room, Auditorium, Small Gym, a lawn, and two leisure rooms and all of them are fully air-conditioned. The library has a wide range of books and a quiet seating/reading area. The classrooms are air-conditioned, have a projector and smartboard. There is no playground or any court on the campus. Now, talking about fests, the college conducts ZEST which is the major fest of JIMS and also conducts an annual fest related to marketing and tech. JIMS has various sports teams and is managed by the Sports Society of the college. Sports competitions are held throughout the year. Since there's no facility for sports on campus, the team goes to the nearest sports facility i.e. SIRI FORT for practice. There are also other societies related to other fields like Performing arts, Debate, Marketing, Data Science, Rotract, which conducts various activities and competitions.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The MBBS curriculum is mostly standard, but its relevance is super high because of the massive patient load at SJH. That clinical exposure is the key thing that prepares you for both real life and NEET PG later—that’s why I chose VMMC. Improvements? We need less lecturing and more interactive case discussions and maybe more emphasis on research. Exams are non-stop, seriously! We have internals/semester exams every 3-4 months. They are tough (50% passing), but they force you to study well for the final big Proffs. It’s tiring, but it works.

Course Curriculum Overview:

When I was studying, students were doubling down to study Software engineering, no matter which stream they belong too. But now, Electronics and Communication has become an important area to study as it holds promosing carreer options in the age of AI where we need Chips and hardware design, server management. People in mechanical engineering can excel if they focus on building something rather than just studying. In order to prepare for real world applications, one has to do a lot of things rather than sticking to only one persuit. I don't have much to suggest something in course carriculam and this college has best teaching methods regardless what they are taught. Students have ample time to do things they like in every semister. Studying for nearly 2 weeks before sessional exams and 1 month before final exams is enough and rest of the time can be dedicated into building something important.
