Remarks

The JAC counselling process was very time-taking. I had reached at 8 am in the morning, and my process got over at 5 pm. But thankfully, the subsequent rounds were online so that was a relief. Admission criteria were based on the ranking in JEE-Mains, and I don't think there was any minimum age criterion. I did not avail any quota for admission.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

I got admitted into B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering on the basis of my rank, and it was as per my liking as well. Faculty to student ratio was fairly decent, and it varied from department to department. The senior faculty were highly qualified, while the assistant or associate level faculty were in the process of attaining the doctorates. Exams were held timely and the level of examinations was considered to be quite advanced as per engineering standards, equivalent to IITs. I believe passing the exams was not that difficult but scoring well was very challenging.

Internships Opportunities

3

There were a lot of internship opportunities available for the coding, software and technical roles, so it was not very challenging to attain a campus internship opportunity for the students pursuing those field. On the other hand, branches like Mechanical, Civil, Electrical saw rare sights in terms of campus internship opportunities available for them, but it could also be due to the COVID scenario prevalent at that time. But to compensate for that, the college provided internal internship opportunities for the students (both paid and non-paid internships), so that was a good initiative.

Placement Experience

4.5

Placement sessions start in the fourth year of graduation, while the internship placement session starts in the third year. The average package throughout the Btech batch was over INR 12lac per annum, while for my branch (Mechanical), it was over INR 8lacs per annum. Major tech giants like Facebook, Google, Amazon came to the campus, while in the Non-Tech field, the big 3 companies, viz Bain, McKinsey, BCG along with other equally well-reputed companies came for placements as well. Around 70-80% of students who applied for placements got placed.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee started from 1.5 lac and was roughly hiked by 10% for the subsequent years. It cost around 7.5 lacs for the 4-year course. Scholarship opportunities were available but most of them were for reserved quotas. Campus placement was good as the packages offered were commendable.

Campus Life

5

Campus life was very enjoyable, had a really good time. The annual cultural tech fest of DTU is called Engifest, which was conducted in the month of February, while the tech fest was conducted in the month of January. There was also a literature fest called Yuvaan, conducted in January, and a sports fest conducted in the month of March. Library mostly comprised of curriculum books, there was an apparent lack of non-curriculum books like fiction, biographies, etc. College wifi made most of the well-reputed journals available to the students. Sports and extracurricular was a major highlight of DTU as there were a lot of opportunities and facilities available for them. Similarly, DTU had a lot of clubs, societies and tech teams covering majorly every domain. For instance, TedX club, DelTech MUN club, Sports club, Fitness Club, Music Society, Gaming club, etc.

Other Applied Colleges

Thappar University, Patiala | Computer Science Engineering

Relocation was not possible for me then

Manipal University, Manipal | Information & Technology Engineering

Fee was very expensive

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is good. I do not feel very pressure. The course curriculum is design by GGSIPU. There is not spefific reason to choose to this course. It was my childhood dream to become computer engineer. I cant say that the curriculum prepares for real world applications because I am just second year students. The exam conducted on semester basis and its not very difficult.

Placement Experience:

Placements at Jamia Millia Islamia are not too high or too low and depend on the branch. Students can apply for placements starting from their 7th semester. Big companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Accenture, and some startups come to recruit. The average salary offered is between 7 to 8 lakhs per year, but there are not many students who get higher packages. About 40 to 60 percent of students get placed. Many students also work on getting into higher studies or look for jobs outside the campus after they finish their degree.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course Curriculum for ECE in my clg is quite up to date and comprehensive, covering both core subjects and emerging areas of technology, which was a major factor in my decision to choose this branch. Course has a balanced theory with practical exposure, supported by great faculties guidance and well-maintained lab conditions. Also you get to choose the type of minor or specilaization you want to pursue after 1st year. Exams are conducted regularly after each semester, and levels are same as any engineering college would have.

If you study passionately and have decent communication skills and some important competencies, I assure you that you will secure a position in a great company. Here at IIT Delhi, you earn what you work for; you can receive salary packages as high as 2 crores, but some offers start as low as 4 lakhs per annum.
