Remarks

I've completed my graduation in BSc Hons Computer Science from Michael Madhusudan Memorial College and this has nothing but an incredible experience for me. The lectures are too helpful and the course itself is way too exciting. The faculty has high personal participation in the lives and well-being of their students and wouldn't ever hesitate to help you out in terms of practicals or notes. Their notes are simple and crisp and might help you even after the completion of your graduation. The authority is also helpful regarding fees or any other sort of help needed. The semester fees were 3500 INR which might fluctuate according to their norms and regulations. The admission process was too easy and quick and you might face zero obstacles. Also if you're from Durgapur or nearby you might opt for this college as the institution does an excellent job of assisting students with any sort of future needs. You can apply from their official site directly without any third-party means.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

I was majorly inclined towards programming, coding so I opted for this course. There 30 students in a class and there was a single teacher for every subject. They were highly qualified and always opted for an easy and simple way of teaching so that mediocre students might grab everything easily. The notes they provided were so useful that we had no tension of passing exams. The syllabus was also well developed and we had practicals for almost 4 days. Also, the exams were always held on time and the results were also released soon.

Placement Experience

5

Students are eligible for campus placements from the 3rd year itself. The companies that visited us were TATA, INFOSYS, CAPGEMINI, WIPRO, MYNTRA etc. Also, there was a job fair in which companies like Genpact were also present. The highest package offered was a 4.5 LPA to a BCA graduate. 25 out of 30 students got placed. Even I'm working in Infosys now.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees were absolutely effective for students hailing from a poor family and also there are different policies for SC/ST/OBC as their fees were deducted if they had respective cards. There was no sudden hike and the cost of the study is too minimal. Also, there were scholarships for students who secured 80% and above and I've been placed in Infosys after the first campusing that was offered by my college. Also, the students who weren't able to crack those tests were given numerous opportunities afterwards.

Campus Life

5

There is a fest held in December for freshers and also several cultural programs as well as annual day and sports competition. They provide grooming courses and nursing training for the ones who are interested. The library has all kinds of books required for you to complete your course. There is a students union that is extremely helpful and they will assist you regarding any issues or problems faced.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum was well-structured, and each semester, there were projects and presentations that also helped to test our knowledge. I got influenced as the curriculum provides us with financial economics, political economics, and Applied mathematics. The level of the exams was decent, related to the course. They could improve in teaching more practical knowledge and projects related to that, instead of only learning in a theoretical way.

Placement Experience:

Placements and job oppurtinities are less since this is an undergraduate college offwering honours degree. Though there is a placement and career councelling cell that looks over this matter. Placements are offered only in a few subjects, such as industrial chemisrty and computer science. The rate of placements are very high and come with high packages. Though I am not interested in placements, but I have started taking preparations for compititive exams. Such preparations are very supported here, rather than jobs and placements.
