Remarks

Not encountered with the college management except during the fees submission and other documentation and other works.

Course Curriculum Overview

3

Since I am pursuing bachelor of science honours in Computer science it is mostly practical based full of programming language around the course. And mathematics is compulsory generic you have to take along with this course which is above 12th mathematics atpar with the maths hons syllabus.

Placement Experience

3

Placement of the college going fair we along with the BCA student sits during the placement dates. You can find good job related to your study and not any odd jobs (again this is for my department).

College Events

3.5

1. Grand Social fest renonwed locally happen in college i. e, basically fresher's for the new students. 2. Saraswati Puja for the students. 3. Annual Sports events for every sports enthusiastic. 4. Special Holi celebration by the students and the faculties.

Fee Structure And Facilities

No additional or hidden fees taken by the authority, college provide full transparent fees details during admission however during University registration and exam form fillup process college will take some extras (you know what I mean).

Fees and Financial Aid

No I didn't opted for any type of banking loan provided the banks and I hardly know about any scholarships given by the college.

Campus Life

2.5

More or less good campus life given you have made good friends worth enjoying with in the college days and to cherish years after. Good gender ratio comparing to other colleges. Lots of students taking admission from all around the cities and nearby. Overall 7/10.

Alumni/Alumna

I have said something inclined to this question. If you have network and friends go chill. Nothing call alumni in this college.

Admission

You have fill-up the form during college application dates which is generally happen after 12th results given by your institutes. u just have to wait for the merit list after that. Around 4-5 round of list publish by the college which isalso depends on the popularity of the course.

Faculty

2.5

Again it depends on the department to department. In my case it is fair. Good would be an overstatement but again it's up to you how you can take the best from them. Teachers and professors are generally humble. I personally met with many due to some trouble and felt that.

However big scale IT companies come here and students of Computer science Hons have had placements worth 6-10 lakhs easily. My plans are to appear for the job interviews but not taking any as I want to study more.

College does provide internship opportunities both through the placement cell as well as department faculty. Semester 5 and Semester 7 students are eligible for placements. Average package is about 5.5 lakh per annum for microbiology course. Although placement percentage is on the lower side majority of students go for higher studies. Many prepare for exams like GATE, IIT JAM, etc.

college placements are good in this college with a number of good financial and consultancy firms coming in with new gen companies as well in the service and sales industry. moreoever getting a good placement in a top financial or consultancy placement requires a POR in a good society as a criteria, its not really required but adds to your chances of getting it. moreover you require to participate in a number of case study competitions for the same as well. my plans after graduation is probably working for a year or two after which i plan on doing my MBA. around 50-60% who apply get a placement.

In today's competitive job market it becomes important for the college to not just help students get degrees but also provide them with placements and internships so that they can have the experience needed to stand at a competitive footing with the rest of the candidates in the world. To look into this, St. Xavier's College has a Placement Cell run by Placements officer Mr. Niladri Sinha under whose guidance, various companies visit the college regularly looking for capable young minds to take under their wing and help provide them with the necessary exposure and experience so that they can combat any obstacles that they face.

Many students do not opt for placements and go for higher studies but many students who opt for it, get placed with decent packages. Many well-known companies visit the campus as well. I wish to explore my options after completing the degree as of now.
