IIM Visakhapatnam at One glance

IIM V is one of the fastest growing IIMs and has achieved milestones in terms of startup incubations, placements, quality companies. Also, it has a process of selection of candidates through its own process where you need to submit SOP followed by the interview. I read many positive reviews on Collegedunia and other pages as well which strengthened my will to get admission there.

course curriculum here is 2 year full residential program and divided into six trimesters. In the first two trimesters, there are core subjects and in the next trimesters, you can choose an elective based on your interest. IIMV provides a general MBA degree, that part is very good I feel. Faculty student ratio is around 1:10 which is quite a good thing.

Prominent internship recruiters are MTR, Yes bank, Modern foods, Sureti IMF, and few other startups as well. Avg stipend is around 65 thousand for the internship duration which is of 2 months. The internship is compulsory for everyone except students having higher work experience of more than 4 years.

Placements are 100% since its inceptions and avg CTC of last year was around 13lkhs. CDS office as well as the placement committee put relentless efforts to get the placements done. Faculties are also involved to a certain extent and help batch to get the necessary skills for the placements, be it interview skills or industry skills. Amazon, KPMG, Amul, GMR, MTR are some of the major recruiters.

Fees for the entire course of two years is 1540000 and you are required to pay it trimester wise, and not at once. You will get loans easily from any bank based on your admission letter of IIM V only. Scholarships are also provided based on candidates' financial condition varying from 20 to 100% of the fees.

The campus is as of now temporary and located in Andhra University. However, the infrastructure is world-class and designed keeping in mind the best teaching and quality of students and faculties as well. Various clubs for MBA subjects as well as extracurriculars are there to hone your skills. As of now, there are 15 clubs in total.

Staying in a hostel is compulsory even if you are from the same city and you want to stay at your home, you can't as this program is a full residential program. Facilities at hostels are top class. Fully AC, two sharing rooms is provided as of now. Food quality is also very good and also different cuisines are provided keeping in mind that people from across the country come there.

There is a policy that if you have received any calls from IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Bangalore, IIM Calcutta and you also appeared for an interview there you need not appear for the interview of IIMV and the scores of the interview from those top IIMs will be considered as your interview score. And I had the same case.
