Remarks
HGC offers the best faculty among many of the colleges in Assam. The fee structure is affordable and reasonable. There are also hostel facilities available for the students living outside Guwahati. With ongoing co-curricular activities on every occasion, the environment for every student is quite comfortable and enjoyable on the campus.
Course Curriculum Overview
I pursue BCA because of my very keen interest in computer science and its applications. Our Computer Science Department has the best highly qualified professors whose only motive isn't just to teach but to make sure the students learn to apply what they taught in everyday life. We have six semesters in total. The term examinations usually depend on the university that HGC is affiliated to.
Placement Experience
Campus Placements are available for only Computer Science Students as per my knowledge. Students from the 5th semester become eligible to seat in for the interviews and rounds. Companies like Wipro and cognizant visit every year. I m still in my second year so I do not know about the average package that is offered, but I heard it's quite nice. I m planning to seat for the placements too.
Fees and Financial Aid
For BCA, the fees per semester are 16,000/- and as for other courses, it ranges around (5000- 6000)/- which is quite okay as the College is semi-government. As per my knowledge, there are scholarship facilities available for the students, and campus jobs are only available for BCA but it's still very limited, so you need to be really good in order to grab the opportunity.
Campus Life
We always have ongoing activities on campus as well as lots of societies for the students. Though, during the examination session, the activities are kept on hold. But overall, it's a comfortable and friendly environment on the campus. We also have a basketball court for students interested in the game.
