Remarks

Firstly this college is suggested by my senior that is also a student of Deshbandhu College. This college is ranked 24 in science colleges ranking by India today. It also holds 3 rd rank in South campus colleges ranking. I have taken admission on 20 July 2014 via my 12 merit basis. The admission process is very easy and transparent. I choose this college due to its infrastructure, largest library on the South campus, best teaching and research facility. This college also provides NCC, NSS services. The sports infrastructure of the college is very good. The chemistry department of the college is fully digitalized. I have also seen some good review from the Quora site.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

I choose B.Sc (Hons) chemistry because I want to do some research work and make my career in research, scientist field in chemistry. In the Chemistry, department totals of 40 students taken admission to my batch. In the department approx 24 associate professors, 10 professors and 10 lab assistant had. There is a total of 5 chemistry research and practical labs. And 3 lecture classes. The teaching method is very professional and also digital. The teacher mainly focused on quantitative practical classes, theoretical concepts and other presentations skills. The exam is held semester wise. In the semester there are practical exam and theoretical exams. The practical exam must be passed by every student. Their also some internal exam which is taken, faculty teacher. If any student failed in the exam it will give back the paper next year. If any student attend a regular class and cover the syllabus it passed easily.

Placement Experience

3.5

From 6 the semester students are eligible for campus placements. For chemistry department students many companies visited the college for placement. 1 ) Asian paint - This company give highest 20 posts for assistant researcher and average salary about 3 to 4 lakh. 2) Jubliant - This pharma company offer 3 posts (approx salary 3.5 lakhs) annual. Approx 50% of student get placement through college. After graduation, I want to do a master in chemistry.

Fees and Financial Aid

College fees are approximately 7200/ annually. And in both semester 1000 rupees is taken for examination fees. There is not any fees hike policy. This college is a central government-funded college so every scholarship which is funded by the central or state government is applicable for the student. College also provides 100 economically weakened student to fess concession. The college has a placement cell unit. For BSc (Chemistry) student many companies like Asian paint, jubilant comes on campus and selected many student avg 3 lakh packages. I don't participate in the company campus because I want to do an MSc degree.

Campus Life

3.5

The college celebrated the annual fest every year in February. The fest is held mainly for 3 days. They conduct music program and fashion modelling and other events. They also conduct a department wise fest. Chemistry department fest "RESONANCE" conducted in March month. The college has the biggest library on the South campus. College also has a book world facility which provides students 4 books for the whole year. College also has a digital library. The classroom is fully furnished and a fully AC and digital classroom. Labs are also very good. The college has many societies like dance, indoor games, music, gym.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I was always interested course. It's relevant to the exams in that particular field. The syllabus for life and other exams in this field. I think that there is a lack of actual real life practice in basic courses. If could be made more aligned to what we do in real life it would have been better. The exams are easy enough to pass by just studying one month before exams and submitting the internal assessments properly. There are end semester exams which gives enough time to prepare well.

Course Curriculum Overview:

i believe CS hons is a decent course. The curriculum is however, very outdated. We are being taught several topics that have no relevance these days and they arent even taught properly. I believe a far better choice would be doing BTech instead since it has a better course and companies prefer that over BSc CS. In terms of preparing for the real world, i believe this course has no use since the most important parts we have to learn it ourselves. Exams are conducted once at the end of every semester (including practical and theory). However during the semesters, there are multiple tests taken to asses our knowledge regularly
