Remarks

Its a girls college so good for Indian parents and it is one of the best college in Kolkata, bad aspect is that fee is quiet high and there's little less exposure because you only deal with girls in college. Admission takes place generally after result of ISC and CBSE is out. This is best college available in Kolkata for food and nutrition most of the colleges here don't have this course. Followed career360 for some reviews.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

I had a background of biology so I chose it and I was interested in this course too. Student: teacher ratio is 100:1. All faculty members are highly educated and professional. Most of the faculty members have done PhD. Semesters exam are held within due respect of time and paper is quite moderate.

Placement Experience

3

After 5th semester you're eligible for placement. Zomato, uber, TCS, Wipro, Godrej companies visited here and made various offers for students. 3.20 LPA is average placement and it depends on your merit and performance for getting selected. 25% students get placed. After B.sc I would like to go for MBA.

Fees and Financial Aid

There is no fee hike policy and total fee for this course is 1.51 lakh. Scholarship is available only for Matrious students who scored above 95+ and there is 6 week internship in 6th semester of your course and stipend depends on your performance.

Campus Life

4.5

There is no big fest held in our college but there are small fests such as fashion show, freshers party and exhibition and many more. Mostly all books are available and if you can't find one you may request for it sooner you will get it. All classroom are airconditioned and have projector so that there's ease in learning process. Annual sports are held each year during winters and there exhibitions ,seminars are held for enhancing their learning. NSS, NCC, nature club, photography club and many more are there.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I've always found economics to be really interesting and thats why I choose to persue it. I wanted to dive deep into the actual concepts and workings of the economy and understand how the world works from an economist's point of view. Sadly the curriculam doesnt bridge the gap between theory and real life. It focuses heavily on textbook and not how the world works.

The curriculum for the Physical and Inorganic chemistry are upto the mark and I felt improvement in teaching style and curriculum is required for Organic Chemistry part. The difficulty of Internal examination can be improved a bit.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would say the course is good but you have to opt for masters and PhD to get a good placement. After bsc there's not any placement. The curriculum was basically practical and theoretical based. But I think it should be more practical so that we can get a job after doing bsc. The teaching method was good I didn't have any problem with that. As it was under Calcutta University so the exam questions were too difficult, sometimes it came out of our syllabus , i think they should change this a little bit .

Course Curriculum Overview:

The syllabus for BSc. Microbiology Hons. was in line with my interests. Few topics like virology, bacteriology, and diversity of the microbial workd are what drew my attention to pick this course. Although there are some portions which one would consider "boring", but I believe every subject has its interesting as well as boring portions. It's seems fair to judge a subject by seeing if the "boring" portions outweigh the "interesting" parts or not.

Course Curriculum Overview:

In terms of relevance and comprehensiveness of the course curriculum, my rating is solid 4.1 out of 5. Because it offers a variety of courses like compulsory english, environmental science, constitution values of India, Inter Disciplinary Courses where one can opt for a variety of subjects which change along with the course proceeds or semester changes. Not only that two major papers and one minor paper are present throughout the semester. As a student we should be well aware of our country and its law as well as how we can keep our environment healthy followed by sustainable development.
