Remarks

The institute was comparatively nearer to my home state, while at the same time offered a sense of independence that can be found only after leaving home state. The professors and research experience provided by the institute was excellent. The only prospective bad thing about the college might be it's location, situated in Kalyani it is nearly a 1.5hrs travel by train from Howrah station in Kolkata and 40mins drive from dum dum airport. But I wanted a peaceful place away from all the bustling of the city so the institute was perfect for me.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The faculty are all highly motivated to interact and help the students in any possible way. Most if not all instructors follow innovative ways of teaching their course.Although the 1st 2 years of the course are very very heavily loaded, for first year we had to study physics, chemistry, biology, mathematics, earth sciences, English and computer science and philosophy of science, In 2nd year we choose 3 of the 5 core subjects from physics, chemistry, maths, biology and earth sciences as premajors

Internships Opportunities

0.5

Due to the Corona virus pandemic I have not been able to go for an internship. Even though I was offered one in institute of life sciences, Bhubaneswar as a summer intern for 2020.There is usually no stipend offered in academic internships.Although some of my friends opted to go for software development internships in private companies for 10000 per month for 3 months.

Placement Experience

4

I do not have much data on this,But a few(4) of my seniors were placed in Dr. Reddy's lab with salaries around 9lpa.It being a science institute, they have. A newly made placement cell. (because most of the students opt for higher education after the completion of their studies )Some students also go for government jobs. But as the institute has signed some MoU s with well established foreign institutes (with jku Austria, UDE in Germany, university of Pennsylvania in USA, RWTH Aachen in Germany to name a few)and the high standings in global rankings(placed 48th in young institutes contributing to quality research world-wide by nature, 2019)These factors contribute to a good enough background for a future PhD or ms in other countries.

College Events

Life at campus was amazing, it is a very big campus for the student strength of 1200 total. The campus is fully fledged with all the facilities you might ever need from sports and recreational activities to high quality computational facilities. We also have a swimming pool in campus. There are a number of individual sports field s for games like football, cricket, basket ball, lawn tennis, badminton, volleyball, kho-kho etc.We also have 2 indoor courts for badminton and table tennis.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fees of the institute have been rising from the past few years and is currently at rs.49000 per SEM for a general student along with all facilities. There are many scholarship (s ) available for people from disadvantageous social/economical backgrounds from the state government for students in science (along with few merit based institute scholarships)

Hostel Facilities

4.5

The hostels provided are 3-sharing for first year students and 2-sharing for 2nd-4th ye students, 5th ye students get their own room. Each person gets a bed with storage compartment s, an almirah, a table with storage compartment s and a chair. Most rooms also have extra study lamps. The rooms have windows with nets to keep away mosquitoes. The hostels have very minimal/no restrictions in any kind of timings. The only restrictions are "Opposite sex visits are restricted from 11am-11pm in the hostels"

Admission

First we had to qualify the board percentage criteria in order to appear in iat exam.We had to appear in iiser admission test(IAT 2019),The test was of mcq pattern for 4 subjects in total.Out of the 4 subjects physics, chemistry, biology, and mathematics the students were graded on their best 3 subject scores. There were 30 questions in each subject and 120 questions in total. Each correct answer fetched +1 mark and each wrong answer fetched -0.3 marks. The ranks from the exam determined our placement in the college.

The mathematics honours curriculum influence my decision to choose these course because of its strong emphasis on core subjects like calculus algebra and analysis which build solid theoretical foundation and logical thinking skills. The course prepared students will for higher studies and comparative exams by focusing on conceptual clarity proves and problem solving some topics also offer practical relevance in field suggest statistics data analysis and applied sciences. Curriculum can be improved by including more application oriented subjects computational tools an interactive teaching method such as problem solving sessions and project based learning

Course Curriculum Overview:

In my collage courses curriculum conduct by Calcutta university, every collage who affiliated with Calcutta university follow Calcutta university curriculum. I choosen BA LLB because in ba llb every semester you learn new law subject and they help you better understand because you have five year times you can learn every law subject very breifly way. I think the curriculum of my law subject is enough to prepare me for real world application because you read every law subject who is important for your real world experience that is the reason i choose this course. I think they need to change repetive topic in semester because of tenure of course i repeated few topic of my subject i think they need to change the few topic of subject they are so repeated. Every year two semester exam i give and semester season is june and December , in june semester exam student have very less time to prepare for exam i think this is a difficult for students for prepare exam in a short time.
