Remarks

Based on the CET ranking I had online councelling in which I had selected something around 14 to 18 colleges according to the rank list based on previous year data. In that I got Basaveshwar Engineering College, which was around 100km from my native and also it has good review from my seniors. Moreover this is autonomous college. So I decided to join this college. The admission process was simple as the seat was already allocated through KEA board and the staff in the college guided me to do the necessary stuff which was required for the process of admission.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

I chose Electronics and Communication out of my interest. And also I was told that in ECE you will the opportunity to choose your career in both hardware(core) and also software. The faculty are really good and interested in teaching new technologies along with curriculum. But finally what matters is how much effort an individual puts in learning. This holds true in all cases whatever may be the teaching environment and college atmosphere. We had three internals in each semester which were conducted in the first week of every month excluding the starting month of the semester. But now the system is changed and you will be having only 2 internal exams. If you learn the topics regularly whatever is taught in class, then passing exams is not a big deal. Even if you don't study regularly you can crack exams by just studying one week before exams.

Internships Opportunities

3.5

I did my internship in BSNL RTTC, Mysore where lot of internships are given. There was no stipend given. College may provide course fees and travel expenses if you inform them regarding such things prior to taking such courses.

Placement Experience

3.5

The students become eligible for placement activities once they enter into seventh semester. The prominent companies in which students get recruited are Infosys, TCS, Hexaware, Global Edge, Saskyn, SLK etc.The average package given is three lakh (300000) Cadence company had come for recruitment but no one made to the final process in our college.Around 65% students were placed in one or the other company.

College Events

The annual fests are conducted in the college in the month of october by IEEE organization of our college and avishkaar is project exhibition conducted by ECE department. Gymkhana association also conducts fests which will be including both fun and technical. There is library facility in college where we can borrow books weekly and exchange them. We can also take and read books there itself.Laboratories are well equipped with necessary components and well trained faculties to explain and handle them since the components will be costly. There is sports association which will conduct competitions between other departments.

Fee Structure And Facilities

College fees which I paid was 55,000 per year which was set by KEA board. Apart from that around 17,000 for college development fees which will be taken every year and varies from college to college. For some other registration fees etc they may take around 2000 per year. Since I was from General Merit I was not eligible for any scholarships. But there are scholarships based on income and cast. Some of them which my friends availed were E-pass and vidyashri given by government of karnataka. There is also MHRD scholarship which will be given by central government which can be applied by all category students depending on the eligibility criteria. In my 7th semester I got selected in GLOBAL EDGE SOFTWARE company. The placement drives consisted are also good and around 20 companies come here to conduct placement activities. Since I passed out in 2020 most of the things happened virtually.

Hostel Facilities

4

There is hostel facility given by college and has separate building for boys and gorls. For hostel it was 48,000 per year including food plus 5000 deposit which will be returned while leaving the hostel. The food was also good.

Admission

The admission was totally based on the CET ranking obtained. There were no group discussions nor any personal interviews. Only thing was to complete PU final exam and then take the CET (COMMON ENTRANCE TEST) both conducted by state board. Depending upon the ranking obtained in CET I got this college and joined by paying first year fees to KEA board.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum here feels more practical and idea driven rather than just theory based which was one of the main reasons I chose this course it focuses on design thinking creativity and real execution instead of only textbook learning One of the strongest parts is how it slowly builds your understanding from basics to advanced concepts through projects assignments and presentations this helps in preparing for real world work because you are constantly creating and improving your portfolio rather than just studying for exams The curriculum does prepare you for industry to a good extent especially in terms of creative thinking software usage and project handling but it can improve by including more updated trends real time industry briefs and collaboration with professionals which will make it even more relevant Teaching methods are mostly interactive and practical but sometimes they can include more workshops guest sessions and exposure to current market tools to enhance learning experience Exams are conducted with two internal assessments of around 40 marks each followed by a final semester exam of 70 marks theory and 30 marks practical the difficulty level is moderate if you attend classes and complete your work regularly it is manageable Overall the curriculum is strong in building creative foundation and practical skills but with a few updates and more industry exposure it can become even more effective for future careers
