Remarks
I chose this college because I knew that I have to study in my local area. And in my local area I found that this college is good for pursuing Bcom . Admission procedure: I had to fill an online form where I had to select the subjects necessary and put in my marks that I scored in the latest examination. Then on merit basis I was selected. There was no admission fees as in Assam the government colleges cannot ask for admission fees now. Good aspects: 1. Local environment 2. Vernacular language as a medium of instruction sometimes helps the students. Bad aspects: 1. The cleanliness in the college is absolutely worst. There are almost no dustbin and even the cleaning work is not done on a regular basis. 2. Extremely poor sanitation facilities 3. The boys common room is also in a very bad condition. 4. The teachers are good but only a few. 5. The infrastructure is also not so good. Broken windows etc.
Course Curriculum Overview
Talking about why I chose this course. The reason is that I wanted to pursue Bcom while doing some other courses. So I thought this college would be good. The commerce faculty is good enough. Some teachers are good. The way they teach is by using a blackboard explain things and also by discussing in a normal manner with the students. There are 2 sessional exams and a final exam. Additional exams take place after every one or two months. It is for 20 marks with passing marks - 8. The question papers are not difficult and if we study a little but we may easily score good marks.
Placement Experience
There aren't any campus placements in our college. After completing my Bcom I am thinking to to do digital marketing course from outside Assam from a good institute offline. And also while pursuing my Bcom I would also want to do other courses as well related to ooh digital media, internet, commerce etc.
Fees and Financial Aid
In Assam there is no admission fees for government colleges so I did not have to pay any admission fees. But yes you need to pay the examination fees for each semester exam. Which ranges from 1000 to 2000.
Campus Life
There is a freshers event which is organized for the new students. Then there is an annual sports week where we get to play a lot of games. The library is packed with a lot of books and the students have to get a library card in order to get access to the books. Talking about the amenities there aren't much in the classroom. There is a green board and if required a projector can be used as well. There are ceiling fans also. There are are two groups in our college which compete in the elections of our college.
