I select the college because this sibsagar Commerce college is located in the central area of Sivasagar District. The campus is suburban and very beautiful with a big tank near the college. The environment is peaceful and calming for the students. Also there areown canteen and library at the college. The college has wifi and others facilities. It organises a college week every year also some other programs, seminars and other important activities for students. The college is best in all aspects. The teachers of the college is highly qualified and good in explaining things. They helps every student if they face any problem and make them participate in other extra activities also. They are friendly and not rigid. There is a computer lab also. The courses at the college are in higher secondary, undergraduate and postgraduate level. The fees vary in every course almost 10-20 thousands. The undergraduate courses are B.com, BCA, and BA and the postgraduate level courses are M.Com and PGDCA. Admission to all undergraduate programs are based on merit basis and for M.Com, an entrance is to be given by students which is held by the Dibrugarh University with which the college is affiliated. The students may receive scholarships of central government or government of Assam where the teachers and staff of the college helps students to get information and apply. There are popular major for commerce and arts such as accountancy, banking, e-commerce, marketing and human resource management. For arts, Economics, English, Sociology etc.The college provides some government courses and professional diploma courses of 1 year that are hospitality management, GST, mass communication, beautician etc. which are provided by government (Skill development courses). The college provides hostel facility to girls on the campus. And for boys out of campus. But the college campus is too small. And the pass percentage is not more than 50 percentage. I choose this course because I wanted to get a undergraduate degree in commerce and further pursue higher education in commerce and then to get a job related to accounting. The student to faculty ratio on average is 40:1. The teachers teach with examples and try to explain with practical problems. They take internal exams twice every semester. They give topics to students to present with PowerPoint in the classroom with latest information of industries, companies and other finance related information. It helps in personal and communicational development of the students. The teachers gives final semester students a task to exhibit handmade things and to sell them every year and to prepare a project related to enterprises. However from last year a subject names entrepreneurial development is included in the curriculum and the project was removed. The term exams are held every semester on time. that is in May and October. It is not very difficult to pass but most of the students cannot pass with a good percentage.

Many of the students go for higher studies. But some find job on their own and some joins business. The college is affiliated with TCS and the TCS personnels come to train the final semester students with personal and professional activities. After that they take interviews of the students and almost 90% of the students that took training get placed in TCS.

There annual college week held every year on January in which students show their talents in art-craft, handmade things, culinary, singing dancing and sports. At the end they receive medal and certificates. The college invite some of the well known singers and other people to the college week function to entertain the students. Almost all important books, journals related to courses and general knowledge and information are there. The classrooms of BA and B.com has electricity facility but are non airconditioned but the library building has air conditioners and other digital facilities. On the common rooms for boys and girls separately there are various facilities available for leisure. Also washrooms are connected with each common rooms. There, in the rooms a mirror, a carrom board, a table tennis board, chess etc are available. The rooms are beautifully painted with sketches and colours by students of the college and photos are pinned on a board. Every year a magazine is published by the college and interested students provide there poem, articles for that. The college has an union body that are elected every year and the body is related to the states student union.

I applied for ugc's ishan uday scholarship which I got. There is no other scholarships provided by the college.

The college has three different buildings one for B.com one for library and computer courses and M.com. and one for BA programs. For sports, a indoor stadium near the college and an field is outside the campus. The library has wifi connection and size is for 40 students. Library provides various books related to finance industry literature economy magazines etc. There is a hall where meetings and conferences are held. and the computer lab has 15 computers and a digital classroom with air condition facility, the size is big.

I didn't opted for hostel. But the hostel building has three floors in which girls reside. There are attached bathrooms with the rooms and girls share the rooms. There's a kitchen provided with a cook who cook for them three times in a day. They have to take permission from warden if they have to go outside the college campus for any work. Mobile phones are not allowed in hostel.
