Remarks
The college on the whole is a learning phase. There are ample facilities provided and proper guidance offered by the Faculty. The Cultural life is non existent and focus on education is always their first priority.
Entrance Preview
I took up CET and my ranking was around 6k. I opted for this college because of the brand name and the placement records.
Course Curriculum Overview
The approach to the course was in the right pace in my department. There was enough time given for students to cope up with the subjects. The practical sessions is where we put our understanding to action. If you're planning for a major in any particular subject then there are ample facilities to assist your research.
Internships Opportunities
There was an internship provide at BSNL for the toppers from the department. There wasn't any stipend given but the learning was amazing.
Placement Experience
The placements are linked with the main Dayananda sagar campus and hence provide ample opportunities for students with 60% cut off score. Most of the top companies visited the campus and more than 60 percent of the students were placed on campus. Almost all students with 60% cut off were placed on campus. They also extend the placement facilities even after you pass out of the college.
College Events
There are technical events conducted on department basis as well as college basis. The cultural life is very dull given the distance of the college from the city. We somehow managed to organize an Inter college cultural fest in our final year but the turnout was very poor. The cultural events within departments are fun.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fees via CET is around 40k annually, comedk fees will come upto 120k. The fee structure is in between feasible and expensive. The fee structure remains the same among many top colleges. Since the placements are tied up with Dyananda sagar college of engineering where the fee for a mnagament seat is much higher the fee structure of DSATM is feasible.
Fees and Financial Aid
There were CET seats offered at a very low rate for BPL families. There weren't many scholarships offered as per my knowledge.
Campus Life
The Gender ratio is quite healthy( 65:35 ) and is dependent on the department you choose. There are yearly robotic workshops. There is no official student union but one does exist. The cultural committees are student initiated and hence there's not much support from the management. There is no partiality based on gender or religion, all are treated as one.
Hostel Facilities
The Hostel charges are a bit expensive provided the food the Hostel is based on two sharing rooms. Ragging is strictly off the radar and every senior signs an anti ragging form. There are TV rooms and other sports complex facilities provided for hostelites and day scholars alike.
Alumni/Alumna
We were the first batch to pass out of DSATM so the ALUMNI was non existent. But we had good interactions organized with our seniors from Dayananda sagar college of engineering which helped in our placement.
Exam Structure
There are 3 Internals and one external exam for the theory subjects there are 2 Internals and one external exam for the Lab. The Internal score accounts to 20% of the overall score and the external accounts for 80% of the score. The Internals are accounted on a best of 2 out of the 3 basis. The Ineternal questions mostly repeat in the external exam as well.
Faculty
The Faculty are highly qualified in the subjects they opt to teach. They're always open to doubts and encourage learning more than the syllabus. They also encourage your extra curricular talents and try their best to provide you the platform to exhibit your skills.
