Remarks

To the Professors, Please collaborate with your students to improve the quality of the study. To all Other officials, Please keep a smile on your face, always. It will help to grow and good for all of us.

Entrance Preview

No exam, merit based admission. Based on B.Sc. marks. It is a PG B.Tech. need to have a B.Sc. degree in place to apply. And based on merit list, admission done.

Course Curriculum Overview

3

Course content was good but the course structure and exam procedure was not up to the mark in terms of current job market. But heard that recently it is revised quite a lot and now it is more effective. Lab facilities was not up to the mark but again, now it is enhanced many folds.

Internships Opportunities

Not much scope of internship. As stated above there is invisible virtual wall between college and the industry.

Placement Experience

1

Job opportunities are well in place but the co-ordination for placement needs to be improved many fold. Companies are not coming, most of the companies are not get invited. Sometimes, small companies even do not know that there are good students, it is pure inefficiency of the placement cell.

College Events

0.5

There was no technical or management festivals at all, that must be there to increase interest of the student and to improve relationships with industries. Few industrial conference were there but participation and the scope of participation from college was very very negligible. Yearly one cultural get-to-gather was there, in which ex-students where invited.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Very very cheap, almost free education. During 2003-2006, what I remember, it was around Rs. 200 monthly and Rs. 60 monthly for Lab. Very easy to afford. Student concession was available for train ticket. Student with less family income can apply for wived-off of monthly fee (Rs. 200 part), which was subject to documentation and approval.

Fees and Financial Aid

Scholarship(s) are there but those are mostly provided by govt., not the college or university. Also to get govt. scholarship, it is a very painful process.

Campus Life

1.5

Gender ratio is good and also the environment is quite ok. Not much foreign students is there. Political parties are there and they always try to influence the normal official activities and the study as well. Never seen a problem with ethnicity, race and religion.

Hostel Facilities

0.5

That was not up to the mark. Not availed that facility and it is very difficult to avail that facility, as the facility was very limited. Out station student were get first preference. Rooms were not good, noisy and not very good for study. Most needs to arrange a better place outside that facility.

Alumni/Alumna

To alumni network and senior students, Please comment on the same as it may be helpful to improve the facility and quality of our college.

Exam Structure

Previously yearly basis, now it is semester basis. Yearly basis exam with a course contain of the entire year is very difficult to face with. Huge syllabus for written test. High volume of practical assignments. There was no second chance. It was a very very lengthy call to finish a yearly exam.

Faculty

2.5

For the student who like to pursue their future in academic domain, I think it is a perfect place to study. Faculties are good. But the total system is lagging behind in the race of professional world. As it is a professional course as well, it needs to be aligned with the current demand of the market.

Nearly or almost 100% students get placed from IIT KGP, irrespective of their branch. This is the beauty about it. Four our course conpanies like the Adani Enterprises, Coal India, Ongc, Aban Offshore and others are our top recruiting companies as all of them are into mining business. Data mining is also been taught to us, so hopefully we might stand eligible to participate in IT companies too.

Placement Experience:

The placement statistics are off the charts, with 367 offers being made to 361 students in the recent edition. The student can seat for internshps offered by diffent companies that visit th campus in their pre-final year, while they are eligible to seat for the placements in their final year only. Apart from this there also other restrictions for seating in the placements like Cg should be above 8.5 and there should not have been any disciplinary charges against you, etc. The companies visiting the college also have their own preferences for selecting the students. In 2024-25 the highest CTC is nearly 2.5 crores p.a. offered to a student of CS branch. The EC department getting the most number of offers i.e. 73.
